JVC CS-V6938 in 2000 Grand AM SE Sedan

Mark W, Crutchfield
9 March 2014
  • Summary: Good sounding speakers for the price, frequency range more than enough for the head unit we're using them with, but there were some modifications necessary to make them fit into the plastic housing on the rear deck. The stock speaker housing had four clips to hold the speaker frame in place, and these had to be removed and sanded flat to make sure the speaker would be seated on the silicone seal.
  • Pros: Good sound, reasonable price, and just short of plug-&-play in our Grand AM.
  • Cons: Some minor mods necessary for them to fit securely.

JVC CS-V6938 Are Great

Anonymous, Crutchfield
3 March 2014
  • Summary: These are a great set if speakers and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to replace their stock speakers. Originally had them in my 00 Oldsmobile Intrigue and now I've put them in my 12 Impala. They was no modifications whatsoever and they directly fit in. These speakers might look tall by they are pretty shallow. They have great high, mid and lows.
  • Pros: Cheap, great bass, mid and lows
  • Cons: None

Excellent bass, mids, and highs

  • Summary: Generally speaking, deck or enclosure-mounted 6x9's give more bass response than 5x7 / 6x8's do. That said, the rear deck-mounted factory 6x9's in my wife's cavalier were pretty much shot, so I picked a pair of these up. What a difference. The highs are crisp and easily audible with low input. Mids are also amazing and full. But the big surprise is the bass.
  • Pros: Excellent clarity, great highs, great mids, greata lows, no distortion at higher power levels.
  • Cons: None

  • Pros: Great fit, no distortion at high volume levels, prefect fit with no modifications.
  • Cons: There is no cons in my opinion.

Honda Civic upgrade

SteveS, Crutchfield
11 February 2014
  • Summary: I replaced the cracked rear deck speakers on my 2002 Honda Civic with JVC CS-V6938 6"x9" 3-way car speakers. The results were amazing. I didn't know what I was missing. The install went easily and took about an hour. Crutchfield, sent the adapters to the speakers from the special Honda plugs - for free. I should have done this years ago. The Honda speakers install under the rear deck in the 2002 Civic. The instructions from Crutchfield were good. This took about an hour.
  • Pros: 3 way speakers cover the full spectrum of sounds, making the mid ranges pop out and can understand the song words better. Much better bass than factory speakers.
  • Cons: None, except now I am considering changing out the front speakers.
