JL doesn't put their name on crap. I have 85 watts RMS going to these
2 weeks ago
Summary: I doubt there is a speaker set right now in this price range that can match up with these. Yes, they are made in China..but they are still JL. JL doesn't put their name on crap. I have 85 watts RMS going to these, and they have held up over a month now being driven hard.
Summary: I was initially concerned about the lack of a true crossover, but after installing these in the rear deck of my 04 civic, I was well satisfied. If you're looking for bass, you need a true subwoofer, these 6.5s will not produce audible lows. However, they will produce crisp mids and highs, as they were designed. I have diamond audio 5.25s in the front and they blended just fine.
... and the mids don't play as low as I'd like. Madisound

Summary: The tweeters are skittle harsh and the mids don't play as low as I'd like. Madisound.com has silver flutes which I will pair with vifa tweets with a crossover that will sound better, but these are not bad speakers by any means. I'd rather have a better crossover than the capacitor than these have, too.
Summary: Its a really good entry level set. It does everything pretty well, which is all you can ask for in an entry level component set. It has a smooth blend between the mid and tweet. The mids are occasionally a little muddy, but thats expected at this price range. In this price range I'd have no problem putting them in my next car as well.
Summary: First things first, these aren't super high-end high powered speakers. They're several grades above your $20 wal-mart special and just about perfect for most folks looking for better than average sound. Install is the same difficulty as any other set of components with the benefit of not needing to mount a large crossover box. For this setup, there is a simple high-pass filter inline on the tweeter wire. Simple, functional, easy to install.
Summary: Sould quality is really good for the price. They are not high end speakers, so dont expect them to sound like $600 Focals, or like the upper end of the JLs. I have them hooked up to a new Kenwood head unit that puts out 50w per channel. I do not have an additional amp. They have clear highs and mids. Very little base, but again, no amp and in the door, not a box.
Summary: After 8 years of lot's of activity on my 550's the coils finally burnt out and I replaced them with these. There is simply nothing better, in my opinion. One speaker sounds like four, and sounds amazing. Couldn't be happier with purchase. Highly recommend JL component speakers -- you will notice the quality.
Summary: Installed these in my 2011 chevy silverado without the Bose factor upgraded stereo. Speakers work great and I can hears sounds that stock speakers just can not produce. There is not drop in quality as the volume is turned up ( have not turned them up 100% ). Factory eq works well, but uses the manual eq setting and you'll get better sound quality. Mounting the tweeters in stock location sounds just fine.
Pros: Great sound for a good price. Install was quick.
Cons: The universal mounting brackets have to be modified for the main speakers to fit. Easily done with a little dremel work. Stock tweeter covers have to be modified to be reused.
