Summary: The speakers I had prior to these were the Polk Momo components. The numbers on the spec sheet say the Polks are way better. My ears tell me otherwise. The crossover for these JL speakers does not allow bi-amping but it is far more adjustable thus making bi-amping totally unnecessary (awesome). These things handle high volume levels so much better than the Polks would ever dream of handling.
Pros: Nearly transparent sound. You definately hear more of the subtle instruments.
Cons: The connector on the tweeter if a female and a odd size at that. If they're going to force me to pay for a connector, it should be a size commonly used. Whatever, I got it to work and it sounds great.
Summary: The tweeters are perfect on these speakers. I have the Slash 300v2 pushing them and they are incredible. They handle whatever I throw at them. From Country to Rock to Hip-Hop/Rap. The mid-bass could be better. It distorts at high volumes. But all in all these are great speakers. I would recommend them to anyone.
Summary: I have heard of crutchfield my whole life but this was my first purchase from them, Usually i would go to audio retailers in town to satisfy my habit of buying audio equipment but this time i decided to try something a little higher end. needless to say i was very impressed with my experience and the quality of the equipment. I purchased these speakers and the 2 way C5-570X speakers as open box items.
Summary: Hello world, I have 2 sets of these speakers for about 2 weeks now and WOW! They are the best set of speakers I've owned so far. I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for and I was after quality these JL Audio fit the bill, they are very pricey. I've got these being pushed by a Fosgate 50 watt 4 channel amp which is below the rated handling for these speakers, after the installation first time I turned up the volume to bring these babies to life it was like butter...
Conclusion: Have JL subs and front speakers wanted something to finished my sound system and bought the JL Audio C5-570 for the rear after looking at reviews and prices purchased a set from Sonic as they were bested priced and having bought from them before they give great service and value for money.
Summary: I bought this set as an "open box" item. The whole set looks like new. The product quality is definentely present. No cheap parts components. The sound is great, it has a natural presence, the high notes are clear and and not harsh, the mid bass sounds without distortion. I replaced an Infinity set with this JL audio and I did noticed that some door resonance sounds dissapeared with the new speakers. My amp is a 4 channel Sony (50 watts x ch).
Summary: Jl Audio does it again. sound is crisp and clear, and with little interference. I actually found my amp was set too high for these speakers. All i had to do was lower the wattage and minor tweeks to my stereo and there you go, great sound
Summary: I mounted these in the front doors of my 2002 F-150 and I have them hooked up to a 300/4 JL Amp. All I can say is these things really sing. The clarity is amazing and crystal clear. I tried to get them to clip by turning my amp gain all the way up and they wouldnt which is amazing. I have had them as loud as I can possibly listen and I have zero distortion.
Conclusion: All I can say is OMG!!!! I was saving a specific disk to test out my speakers and hear what they where capable of. The Disc? Try the Original Soundtrack to the movie Gladiator!!! This disc has tracks that will put your speakers through strings, horns, kick drums and some really cool female harmony. The Movie is also one of my top 5. For now I have the tweeters stuck to the sail panels just below the grab handle and angled facing each other.
