Amazing sound always

R.L., Crutchfield

  • Summary: These speakers sell themselves. JL has always sold quality speakers with an affordable price. They blend in with the rest of my speakers without drowning out the mids or hi's. Purchase these baby's and you won't be sorry.
  • Pros: Great sound. Fits comfortably in the rear speaker deck. Quality!!!!
  • Cons: Update the look maybe?

JLAudio door speakers

dsayroo, Crutchfield

  • Summary: The JL Audio C2 series has a great sound. The bass is deep and rich and the highs are crisp. I honestly believe JL Audio makes some of the best speakers on the market net to Focal (which is highly over priced). And I've worked with Kenwood, Infinity, Alpine, Sony, and many other brands as well.
  • Pros: Great sound, easy install, strong construction
  • Cons: More pricey than competitors

BOY HOWDY!

Ed, Crutchfield
31 March 2013
  • Summary: Installed in my 2001 Chevy Cavalier coupe and I love 'em! The Punch Brothers never sounded better, I can hear all the instruments clearly including the upright/string bass, which was hard for me to single out before. The magnets are huge compared to the stock speakers I removed, if you have a similar car watch the torsion bars for the trunk. I had to bend them a little to keep them off the speakers when the trunk is closed. Good install instructions and great product.
  • Pros: Great sound
  • Cons: None

  • Summary: I have a jl audio system in my classic car. Everyone who knows about sound quality knows that Jl Audio is the best. I'm running (4) Jl 6x9 in the back deck lid, (2) 3 inches in the dash, (2) 6 inches in the kick panels, a Jl 1000/1 amp for my Jl W7 13,5, a Jl 660 (6 channel) amp to all the inside speakers. For a deck I have alpine INa 900 double din deck with a 6" screen. I also have 4 tv's I the car also.

Waste Of Money

Jason from Tampa, FL, Sonic Electronix

  • Conclusion: I was JL Audio's absolute biggest fan until I bought these speakers. The highs sound pretty good and the bass gets about as low as you expect a 6x9 to get. BUT, the mids to me were absolutely horrible! On some songs, they were ok, but if anybody but a woman is in the song, the voice is inaccurate and scratchy. Also, although the bass CAN get semi deep, it is not clean bass at all.

Sound Great

W from Long Island, NY, Sonic Electronix
13 March 2012
  • Conclusion: These speakers sound great when paired with a 300w Slash V2 amp. They are pretty powerful and have a nice crisp sound. However, they aren't very durable, after about 3-4 months I had one of the tweeters explode.

Super sound

Chris G., Crutchfield
6 March 2012
  • Summary: I gave these JL Audio speakers a five because I have tested so many other 6x9's on the market, to go into my Harley Road Glide saddlebags and actually kick up some dust. These really did the job. If you like sound quality and thumping bass, then you will not be disappointed by these at all.
  • Pros: Handles the power of a 150w x 4 amplifier, top of the line brand for sure.
  • Cons: I found no cons to note, cost was fair for the products quality and performance.
