Conclusion: I have owned a set in my 2007 Honda accord for five years now and they still sound great. Crisp highs but not a lot of bass but there 6×9s so... I just purchased these for a 2001 mustang with a 70 × 4 Kenwood amp and crossed them at 80 hz hpf. If your planning on a sub then you definitely can't go wrong with these, there sound is phenomenal ! BTW as far as durability no speaker can handle being underpowered and driven hard . they will over heat quickly and blow.
Summary: I was looking to get better sound out of my stock head unit in my '12 F150 (base stereo with tweeters in the "A" pillar) so I picked up a set of these for the front door. These speakers were a huge improvement over the stock ones. They produce detail in music I have never heard before. I love contemporary jazz and these speakers added tons of detail and a very noticeable kick of bass to the music.
Summary: I wanted to replace the front speakers with something better than the paper stock speakers. What a great upgrade, even with the stock head unit. Speakers are crisp and clear. Don't expect super bass. The speaker is just to small for that, however, the bass tones are rich and clear. They are perfect for a smaller car like the fussion. They fit right into the existing door speaker openings. Took longer to get the door panel off than it did to replace the speaker.
Summary: I am thrilled with these speakers. They are replacing those supplied by the factory so they were bound to be better. There are instruments and words that I couldn't even hear before but now it is as clear as can be. They also fit right into my PT Cruiser, replacing the others.
