Awesome Speakers

BroncoJim194, JBL
17 November 2014
  • Excerpt: I got these speakers last fall for my Bronco. I got 2 P662's and 2 P 963's Along with a Pioneer GM-D8604 4 Way amp @ 150w/channel @2Ohms. I like it loud and clear and this set up sure delivers. Unfortunately I neglected to check the frequency response of the 6x9's and blew them after a couple of weeks of extreme volume. I have since replaced them with another set of p963's. I also added a 2x12 sub box with a 600w rms amp.

These Crank

mb87, JBL
28 February 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought these to replace a pair of GTO935's in the rear deck of my Honda Accord. The 935's hhave been great workhorses for several years but were showing their age with a blown supertweeter on one side and occasional silence from the other. Installed one of these for comparison and was blown away. Sound is excellent and it is loud. Crisp highs, and much more forceful lows. Great mids as well.

  • Excerpt: I bought 4 of these for my 2000 F-150 supercrew cab (or whatever it is, the extended cab with the 2 suicide doors). The truck originally came with 2 - 5x8's in the front doors (dont always listen to the forums which said it came with 6x8's) I knew there would be trimming involved but due to the inaccuracies found in the forums more trimming was required than I originally thought so I cannot comment on how the fit is in a vehicle with OE 6x9's.

  • Summary: If you want a cranking set of speakers these are what you want. Try using nuts & bolts to mount cause the screws are an accident waiting to happen.A full sounding speaker especially with amp.People will jump out of your car it's so loud.

Wow

dLovell2001, JBL
20 July 2012
  • Excerpt: I have a 99 Toyota Solara with JBL Premium Sound System. The amp was great but blew the speakers that came in the car. I replaced them with the P963 6x9 rear deck and P662 6.5 in the doors. WOW. I was blown away by how good they sounded. Unbelievable how much louder and clearer these are - the bass is powerful. I can turn my amp volume up all the way and the speakers do not distort.

Recorded music was supposed to sound like this!

hawk8403, Ebay
10 April 2012
  • Summary: I installed these in a honda accord. They are power hungry so buyers should understand this purchase should be accompanied by an amplifier unless you already have one that has a spare 220 watts RMS to give. An average aftermarket radio can handle between 50 and 60 total RMS watts. The magnet is super heavy and awesome but it's greatness requires an extra 1/4 to 1/2 inch of install depth compared to my alpines.
