LOUD

Ricky, Crutchfield
28 February 2014
  • Summary: This sub is absolutely AMAZING! This sub shakes my whole car even turned up a 1/4 and when its all the way up i'm able to shake the cars next to me. I'm only feeding it 100 watts also since if i hooked it up to my sound ordanance m1500 it would probably destroy my battery..
  • Pros: Loud
  • Cons: Nothing yet!

ronnieb, Crutchfield
24 January 2014
  • Summary: The best sub I've ever had. I heard it and immediately sold my 2 15 inch kicker squares to go get one with a ported bassworkx box and couldn't be happier.
  • Pros: Sounds like 2 15s
  • Cons: Not a single complaint

Alpine Type S 12' Sub

Evan, Crutchfield
24 January 2014
  • Summary: I love this sub. Even though, yes it is my first sub and yes, I am probably fanboying over it, It hits really hard. i have it paired with alpines MRV-500 amp and have the gain set to 2/3 and bass boost set to 9db.
  • Pros: Loud, accurate, great bang for buck.
  • Cons: Slight ruffling when it hits the higher or lower notes (almost inaudible though)

Great sub, almost as good as 1990 lanzar pro

  • Summary: I wanted to share my experience since I used to be very heavy in the Crank it up scene in the 80's-90's. I used to run Lanzar Pro subs with 90-93 db efficiency. These are 86db. You have to double the watts to add 3 db so a more efficient sub takes less power to get the same db as cheaper subs.
  • Pros: Quality sound Tight base in sealed box
  • Cons: wish was more efficient 86db not good enough

Great Sub!

Anonymous, Crutchfield
24 January 2014
  • Summary: I bought this sub to replace 2-10" subs I had before and it was well worth it! I have an Alpine MRP-M500 amp powering my 12" and it's perfect! I bought the 4 Ohm dual voice coil because I already had the amp an didn't want to buy a new one and I could just bridge the 12" from 4ohms to 2ohm which is...

  • Summary: Recently bought an alpine type s and wow does it pound. I decided to put it in a sealed box since i never used one before and let me tell you it sound incredible. I bought an audiopipe 1500 since i was on a budget and it does the job.
  • Pros: Looks very sleek with the black cone. Small and versatile. Version of older type r. Good for people on a budget.
  • Cons: None so far.

decent sub

todd, Crutchfield
7 June 2013
  • Summary: Only using a 500 watt alpine amp turned up half way with the eq down and I smelled one of the voice coils but it still hits pretty good for a single 12, I would buy atleast a 700 rms amp and turn it down.
  • Pros: Looks build quality
  • Cons: Price, theres a lot better subs from the smaller guys that are every bit as good if not better for a lot less.

Excellent SQ in 1 cf sealed box - using 125 watts- Good tight bass

  • Summary: I am old school. I competed back in the late 80's with Lanzar, Orion, MB Quart, and Autotek but am going back to college and had a friendly school comp. coming up. I bought this and a 1 cf sealed box. These are not as efficient as the old Lanzars. (86 vs 94db ) but the bass is tight and quick.
