Below average

Sunshine "Sunshine", Amazon
29 April 2013
  • Summary: The screen isn't colorful or very interactive like I thought it would be. It is not Satelite radio ready like the ad says. I already had a subscription to XMradio before but when I got my Sony there is no option on the radio to connect to XM radio. Overall this radio is mediocre and I wish I would have saved my money for a better product.

Just as expected

  • Summary: Great product. Packaging was secure and safe. Received the product quickly. Despite the reviews about this units navigation, I think it's wonderful. It's detailed, informative and this bad boy has enough settings on it to literally make it just how you want it. Great buy. Functions well. Give it a shot.

Awesome product - I only have one small gripe

  • Summary: I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. It arrived super quick after I placed the order and I was extremely happy with the service from amazon and the seller. The deck is pretty awesome - great quality and the picture is HD. My boyfriend had it installed professionally and it is fits nicely in the dash of his car. He has a chrysler 300 and the system looks like it was made for the car - it is flushed to the dash.

Good, but not great.

  • Summary: I purchased this unit over a year and a half ago. Since I spend a lot of time driving, it goes without saying that I spend a lot of time with this unit. Aesthetics: The physical design of this unit is pretty good. Most of the physical real estate is used on the LCD touch screen, which is what it should be. Internally, the Sony user interface is ugly. There is nothing attractive to any part of the Sony designed interface.

Just horrible

Doc Stew, Amazon

  • Summary: Most of the reviews have said it all. This unit is very overpriced and crippled by lack of support. I've had issues with an unresponsive touchscreen (appears to be random). Switching radio stations takes several presses of menu buttons which is ridiculous! The HD radio constantly cuts in and out depending on where I'm driving (I'm 30 miles outside of Chicago).

Bad GPS

Khoi, Amazon
3 November 2012
  • Summary: I had the unit for 1 yr. Every thing works well except for GPS. It works for about 1 month and stopped working. Locked up with error says: waiting for valid GPS signal. I try to reset the Tomtom many times but did not help. I didn't bother send it in for repair because I read about it and almost everyone owns this unit have the same problem. I decided to by a portable unit and not having to deal with it.

do your research!

  • Summary: I won't bother repeating what others have already said in all of their reviews. I will say this is a very complex system that's not a drop in, plug and play system and before you decide to invest in it do yourself a favor and spend some time researching all of your options.

Sony rocks!

ibuy2c, Ebay
6 July 2012
  • Summary: Bluetooth audio is miracle that allows you to be a DJ in the car with a pretty good sound quality. No need to use the USB/Ipod interface. Burn your own DVDs and play them - picture-in-picture format for viewing DVD and Navigation. Update TomTom maps easily via USB interface. The database of speed limits and traffic cams is pretty impressive. Had it installed on my Sienna with a backup camera. I paid $250 for the installation and I am pretty happy with it.

Not great, but a good buy!

Metch from Waldorf, MD, Sonic Electronix

  • Conclusion: I purchased this unit from SonicElectronix on April 12, 2011 and its been good to me. It does have some flaws. The radio station has presets, but it will display the artist of the last song you listened to while on the station. Stupid to me. And the display has all the information displayed on one line that scrolls while displaying the info. Touch screen reacts a little slow to touch, but its not too bad. Thats why I rated it low for the design.
