Summary: I have a 2011 Subaru STI hatchback, and it came with the stock crappy, no-nav stereo. After reading about how the quality of my speakers were ok in my car and that they are just underpowered with the crappy stock unit, I decided to go with this unit.
Summary: I didn't buy this off of Amazon but this is for those of you who are contemplating on buying this. I would have to say that it's definitely worth it. I've only had this unit for about a week but here are my thoughts so far.
Summary: So, based on the reviews here, I purchased the Z130BT. That was a bad mistake. I wish I hadn't. The Pioneer screens are a perfect example of how you can make a GUI interface non-intuitive and difficult.
Summary: I was very excited to get this unit, and while it looks very nice, it operates terribly slow! Start the car and you will have to wait up to a minute to be able to input the destination into the GPS, and as you type the responsiveness is worse than devices 10 years old.
Summary: The basic functions of the unit are good. The voice recognition is poor. The stereo tuner is good. The low voltage outputs could be better at this price. Screen is nice and the operation system is fast. The Ipod integration is good but there are some issues.
Summary: Do not purchase this item it is the worst GPS navigation device on this planet. It doesn't show any of the streets ahead you and you have to pay for the updates. Other GPS devices update the maps for free.
Summary: The sound quality coming from this unit is what I would expect from Pioneer; very, very good. However, that is where the positives end. I have gotten the impression that Pioneer shouldn't be in the business of creating software user interfaces; they should just leave that to the professionals.
Summary: What can I say, I had high expectations for this model. Dont waste your money. You need a GPS? Use your phone, the amount of technology is here is silly compared to what you can do on your smart phone.
