Summary: I've had this head unit installed in my car for close to a year now. The rest of the set up in my G35 includes Alpine Type-R component speakers up front, coaxials in the back, and for the sub stage I have 2 JL 10w3v2s. Powered by an Alpine MRX-F65 for the front components and a JL 500/1 for the rear components. Overall, my system sounds great. Could use some improvements here and there but I blame the place that tuned it for me. Now, onto the head unit...
Summary: I got this headunit installed last October, and I have never had a problem with it. Menu looks nice and stylish, unlike other headunits that have cheap looking menu and fonts. DVD's, Bluetooth, USB's, Aux input all work perfect! Album art also looks fantastic, would definity recommend to anyone.
Summary: I bought this last year to replace the stock Head Unit in my 2006 Expedition and had it professionally installed. At first I loved it, but after a few months the unit began to "hang" intermittently. When this happens, whatever station I am listening to cannot be changed. The menu cannot be accessed. The unit is "frozen" and plays only what I had selected before the hang. The only option is to power cycle the unit. I'm not sure if this is an officially acknowledged bug.
Summary: Bought for an 2006 f-150, easy to instal with the help of someone who is slightly mechanically inclined. Got the metra 70-5520 wiring harness and it conected easily, just youtubed how to ground the parking brake override so passengers can still watch movies when i drive. Bluetooth works great for calls and playing music through (i have an iphone). All and all a really sharp looking head unit that works great!
Summary: I needed a new stereo for my car because I just bought a new subwoofer. I saw this in best buy, played around with it for a litte, and decided to buy. Everything about it is perfect, but it loses one star for an annoying little issue. Ide say atleast once or twice a week, it either freezes up, or shuts off completely.
Summary: I don't own this model but rather the DDX-418 and at first it was great. Then Apple had a software update on the iPhone. After the update the Kenwood DDX-418 would not play video from my iPhone. Just a black empty screen and audio. I called and emailed several times and they told me to try some things and that it worked for them...until I found the right person who told me that it didn't work and there was no update for the DDX-418 to make it compatible again.
