Summary: I purchased this unit new and have very little good to say about it. I've been a loyal Alpine customer since 1980 and have purchased nothing but Alpine head units, amps and speakers. I currently have 4 vehicles and they all have Alpine audio everything in them. This unit is the last Alpine I will ever purchase and all my Alpine audio is up for sale. THERE is no support for this unit and NO updates! The biggest reason I purchase this unit was for NAV and DVD.
Summary: I love this head unit. It does everything I need and more. The price was great! I had a problem with the first unit and their tech support contacted me quickly and when they couldn't resolve over the phone they immediately shipped another unit. I could not ask for better customer service!
Summary: Truly a horrible product for the price tag. If you have an ipod forget about it, iphone, ditto. and that doesn't mean android will work. Because they won't either. and the B.T. that comes with it, well I don't even think it works well enough to rate. P.s. nav is a joke.
Summary: I have had this unit for about 4 years now. I have 2, one in each vehicle. I absolutely love the sound. I have no problems with that part. My beef comes with the NAV system. The maps are old and it doesn't really find what your looking for. The maps are NOT update-able, Well honestly they are but they never put out any updates. I tried for years to look for updates and never found any. I even went to the Alpine site and they didn't have any.
Summary: I agree with everyone who said that the bluetooth connection to the phone is hit or miss. So half the time I get an incoming call, it just comes through the phone, and I have to start the pairing process from scratch. Even the USB connection only finds the phone half the time. And I've never been able to play music through bluetooth. The nav system is frustrating, again requiring lots of resets. And the map update costs $100! Shouldn't that be free?
Summary: I have had the Alpine INA-900Bt in my car for nearly two years. I have installed the firmware upgrade and the navigation update. I must say that any glitches that I had early on (a few system freezes and need to reset) have not happened in a long time. I am quite happy with the system and would purchase it again. The screen is very bright and sharp. I connect my iphone and use the blue tooth. When I need charging I use the cable.
Summary: This unit functions perfectly like it is designed. It connects with as many adapters and inputs that you could ever want. Rear TVs, back up/front view cameras, video cameras. If you purchase an adapter you can even connect your smart phone to view Netflix, Youtube or anything else online you wanted. Other reviews stating that alpine doesn't offer map updates for GPS are wrong, an Sd card is available through alpine that updates the map system.
Summary: Alpine used to be one of the best in the 80's and 90's - fast-forward to today - ALPINE is by far the worst for performance, technical capability, looks, etc. Please do not waste your money on Alpine's proprietary software. Stick with known quality navigation systems. I purchased the navigation double din head unit/navigation system and 2 months the unit started having severe stuttering and software issues.
Summary: This is review in directed mainly towards the negative reviews on this product. I order this product in full faith that it would live up to the name Alpine has made for itself, and I have to say it has. I look at things very critically, I this head unit pleases me greatly. I only have a few negative remarks about this which I will say at the towards the end of the review.
