great well worth the money!

DeltaSoldier, Amazon
4 August 2014
  • Summary: Perfect. Haven't found a problem yet. I'm an avid audiophile and I have to say this is the best unit yet! Be warned, mirrorlink is inoperable unless you have a modified device (android) iPhone or iPod I couldn't say if aha worksbut everything else is good and I custom built it into a 2004 Chevrolet silverado.

Great stereo so far

Howard M. Harte, Amazon
10 March 2014
  • Summary: I installed this stereo in my truck over the weekend. Overall it is a great unit, and I am quite happy with it. The HD radio is great, display is clear and bright, and it works great with the backup camera I installed. One thing that is lacking though is a way to automatically dim the display when the headlights are turned on. Since the display is so big and bright, it would be nice to have a way to automatically dim it at night.

Fantastic headunit for the price

C. Peeples, Amazon
30 December 2013
  • Summary: My only complaint would be that you need a rooted android phone and a custom app from XDA-Developers for FULL mirroring. Full mirroring gives you the actual phone's display, so that you can use apps from your phone vs. apps that the headunit allows you to utilize. In addition, if you listen to Satellite Radio, you cannot utilize the mirroring mode to view maps from apps like Waze or Google Maps while listening to music.

good but missing one function that it could have

G. Brine "gear", Amazon
24 October 2013
  • Summary: Overall the unit is good if you've moved beyond discs. The only function missing that could easily be added (by software) is to have the unit running with just the clock on the screen. This would mean the unit was on and ready to receive a call via bluetooth, but the screen would not be taken up with anything else (like radio, ipod functions, aux).

Great receiver, but lacking in a few areas.

tribe, Amazon
10 July 2013
  • Summary: I upgraded to this receiver from a Pioneer AppRadio 2. If you've used the AppRadio, especially with a Samsung phone, you know how frustrating the experience can be. This receiver doesn't have all the Android functionality that the AppRadio has, but the overall user experience is much more streamlined. This radio has a nice bright screen.

Awesome if you have a real phone running android

In2quads, Amazon
18 June 2013
  • Summary: I installed this in my F150 on June 15th and it works great out of the box. Connection to my galaxy note 2 on T-mobile was flawless and works as advertised. I upgraded from an eclipse AVN726e, and this thing has so many more features and the mp3 decoding sounds much better. As far as the other users not being able to hookup their phones, I cannot comment because I did not have the issues that they are talking about.

Bluetooth doesn't work; interface "clunky" and "buggy"

Jason R., Amazon
13 June 2013
  • Summary: Good concept, if it worked. Bluetooth doesn't work. Interface "clunky" and "buggy." Randomly played the wrong songs on the iPod. Perhaps issues can be resolved with a software update.

I hate this stereo!

Salvador Sanchez, Amazon
10 June 2013
  • Summary: I purshased this stereo for 600.00 on Amazon, will sell it for 100.00 to the first brave soul who wants it. This Alpine did not connect to my old school Alpine gadgets: PXA-H701 Processor and the TUA-T020XM XM Radio, you have to buy new ones, since the unit lacks all the Alpine needed AV Connectors. Also to connect to an Iphone you need a KCU-461iV cable (not in the box) that even the Alpine Flagship stores dont carry.
