The Sony MEX-BT2600 features CD player with built-in amplifier (17 watts RMS/52 peak x 4 channels), MP3/WMA/AAC/ATRAC compatible, Bluetooth Technology, remote control, EQ3 Stage 2, front-panel USB input, front-panel auxiliary input, 2-channel preamp outputs (Rear and subwoofer) and CEA-2006 compliant amplifier.

The Sony MEX-BT2600 features CD player with built-in amplifier (17 watts RMS/52 peak x 4 channels). The CD mechanism includes a suspension to resist shocks, a motor that draws less power and a fast low-current pickup that which is said to improve durability and CD playback accuracy. The CEA-2006 compliant amplifier is rated at 23.2 watts per channel minimum continuous average power into 4 ohms, 4 channels driven from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with no more than 5 % THD. This car stereo plays CDs, CD-Rs and CD-RW discs. In addition to this, it is able to play MP3, WMA and AAC compressed audio files stored on a CD-R or CD-RW. The Sony MEX-BT2600 features Quick-BrowZer which offers to search for a track on a CD or from a connected USB Mass Storage Device by category (Genre, Artist, Album or All). The Digital Music Plus offers to reproduce detail and high frequency sound from compressed audio. This car stereo allows manual tuning or seeking of AM/FM stations. The EQ3 Stage 2 features 7 EQ presets which each has a preset value for 3 bands (Low, Middle and High). The Dynamic Soundstage Organizer (DSO) uses proprietary circuitry to induce subtle phase shifts and simulates a sound source that s placed higher than the actual speakers in the vehicle. In addition to this, the DSO setting can be stored for each source. The Sony MEX-BT2600 features three pairs of RCA preamp outputs for the front and rear channels and for subwoofer operation. The Front Panel Auxiliary Input allows connection of a portable audio source. This aux input is said to be deactivated in the menu so it does not appear as an available source. This car stereo has Bluetooth wireless connectivity with features that include hands-free calling, integrated microphone, high-quality audio streaming and control of compatible equipment.

Additional features

The Sony MEX-BT2600 features a detachable feature which is said to be theft preventive. It also comes with Wireless Remote Control for easy operation.

    I tune in a radio station and save it to memory and all is fine until I turn the ignition off and then restart the car and the stations are lost and it's back in demo mode. How to you save settings that will remain saved after power off.
