Summary: This Lasted less than 2 years. Condensation started building up on the screen and soon the touch screen stopped working. The app radio software is clunky and not very usable. I just kept my old iPod classic attached until the touchscreen stopped working. This is an early attempt as a good idea. Don't buy this model and perhaps see what Alpine has to offer.
Summary: Here's everything you need to know. This unit is old now. The AppRadio 3 is out. DO NOT BUY THE APPRADIO 3!!! This unit is the one to buy. Here are the reasons why. -This unit doesn't have the added weight of the CD/DVD motorized mechanisms. Who uses CD's and DVD's anymore? -This unit has the ability to be fully unlocked!! Here's what I mean by "Fully unlocked". Most users are using this unit with the AppRadio app from Pioneer.

Summary: The head unit really is not that great, the connecting app is awful and if you are intending on rooting your phone and using arliberator like I did then it gets a little better. However it uses power faster then it can charge. It takes a couple minutes to be completely connected and it takes a couple days to get the settings right to where you can get it connected in a couple minutes. If that makes any sense. It is fairly complicated.

Summary: At first, my iPhone 5 would only play music, Pandora radio, and link to my phone for calls. Apps and video did not work, even with the lightning adapter. But I thought no big deal, Pioneer said that it was coming out with an adapter cable soon (and they did, it was $60). So I bought it but it still wouldn't display apps. I called Pioneer and they said to make sure I had all software updates installed and to call back.
Summary: This should clearly have been beta tested a while longer before going out to the mass public. The interface is good, but the damnable warnings that sometimes don't let you click OK are sometimes annoying. And it restricts your ability to use all your apps. You can only use the ones it allows, unless you purchase software to bypass the AppRadio App, which is also a pain. The three reasons for my purchasing this device was 1. to run Audible. 2. to run Google Navigation. 3.
