Summary: Like many other people on here I also experience the frozen touch screen problem. at random I cannot use the touchscreen. You will be listening o music fine and then you suddenly cannot change the station or inputs etc. it's fixed by resetting the unit with the tiny button in the left hand corner. I RMA'd the unit to pioneer. 4 weeks later they any it back with a detailed report that said "no trouble found".
Summary: Every day that I have to drive somewhere I feel pangs of disappointment about my Pioneer AppRadio. What could have been a really killer app is just a source of frustration. On paper, AppRadio has all the promise of the Ford Sync in-dash bluetooth system. In practice, it falls short in every possible way. Here's a a walk through of what endure every time you turn the ignition: 1.
Summary: Pioneer should never have released this product to the public in its current form. It is full of bugs and is a real pain to operate 9 months after its release (new firmware update made no improvements). I've been a fan of pioneer for many years and have owned quite a few flagship nav receivers (ex. Z120BT) but pioneer is notorious for not updating firmware that listens to customer complaints. Each year, they just release a new unit.
Summary: I really liked the device, especially after cydia updates. Pandora app is COOL. But the phone call quality was horrid. Sounded like I was talking to someone through a tin can. Had to return. Alas.
Summary: great, great concept. i was looking forward to this since it was first announced early this year. i found that most of my media consumption came directly from my iphone4 and this was the device to put that functionality into my car. it has a beautiful, high resolution screen and not much more to rave about. the interface leaves you needing to manipulate the phone in order to change audio/video sources which kills the whole point of a headunit that's dedicated to iOS.
Summary: Certainly a disappointment but hopefully not a total loss. I've ran into many of the software "bugs" that are listed in the reviews here. Something as simple as the clock even seems to have issues. The clock has twice now jumped forward by a full day for no apparent reason. I was disappointed at first in the lack of multiple channel preouts. I have to say though, the sound is still pretty good. My 5ch amp splits the 2ch input up nicely.
Summary: I was so pumped for this product when I first saw the announcement for it a little over a month ago. Now that I have it and have spent the past 3 days using it I can safely say it has been a huge letdown. I really wanted it to work as well, I tried my hardest to see past all the issues, but there are so many and they interfere so heavily with the usability I couldn't. For that reason I'm returning it. I'll detail the specifics individually further down.
