THE WORST PIONEER PRODUCT, A JUNK

danicaicedo, Amazon
3 December 2013
  • Summary: (sorry for my bad english) When I found this model in the internet I thought that it was a marvelous car stereo, but the reality was so different. Since that I finished the installation, the technician said me that this models of "appradios" has many issues and in fact, thus it was. I has this radio 3 weeks and until this day I cant sync with my iPhone 4, simply it's impossible.

I feel disgusting! I just lost $300!

DaveGarner, CNET
23 November 2013
  • Summary: I feel like I was just mugged. $300 down the drain. Pioneer is not trying to help its thousands of customer who bought this garbage. It will not work with any Apple device any longer. This may even be grounds for class action lawsuit since they licensed the ability to sell this as an Apple compatible product. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH PIONEER! I should have known better since this isn't the first time they burned me.
  • Pros: It looks pretty when it's off.
  • Cons: Rarely works, Pioneer has miserable customer service, Firmware Updates do more harm than help, After iOS 7 not a single device connects to it, I've been told on multiple occasions that after this last update Pioneer will not be supporting this any longer

Not worth it.

Bo, Amazon
27 March 2013
  • Summary: You get what you pay for. The sleek look without the cost. I bought this radio to replace my still working kenwood because it wouldn't play my iTunes Match, this radio did. Interface is a little buggy, but works most of the time. It isn't what I'd call "true" touch screen cause you still have to navigate lists with touch buttons, but cannot directly select what you want on screen without scrolling through.

Pioneer App Radio

Dawn Hiltz, Amazon
5 March 2013
  • Summary: Not sure if the seller is a fly by night but I have had and continue to have serious problems with this unit. On the several occasions I have contacted this seller, he was rude and not helpful at all!!! I am now stuck with a product that does not function properly and the seller has done nothing. In theory the unit would be fantastic but it does not. Not sure if he is a true Pioneer reseller, I would bet NOT!

Worst Touch Screen Out There

P. Dizon, Amazon
30 November 2012
  • Summary: I don't like aftermarket units as it is because they look ugly and out of place - with it's piano finish and dance club lighting - in current automobile dashboards. I picked the AppRadio because it's simple and is the least ugly looking unit out there - it's almost just a plain screen. But that's the only positive I can say about it. Pioneer and it's AppRadio is by far the worst experience I've had with an audio company and it's aftermarket unit.

Horrible

Skyler, Amazon
29 October 2012
  • Summary: Way too many glitches and just the worst customer service. You can't make a stereo that only works with an iPhone when you know they come out with one every every year because it will not work with the new iPhone at all.

crApp Radio

Mascave, Amazon
27 October 2012
  • Summary: This radio is the worst incarnation of a car stereo I have ever had! First of all they lock it down so tight that you have to do everyhting just right or you'll be driving down the road with no music! It's actually more distracting going through the BS to get to use it than it is actually using it. The interface is just not friendly at all and the apps they are creating are trying to skirt the interface and make it useable but you just cant polish a turd.

I pay to be guinea pig!!

Bill-Miami, Amazon
17 October 2012
  • Summary: No joke!!! I should read more in details when I got this radio. Don't get me wrong, it has some good stuff but the down side or cons has more weight than the pros. I won't go explain them, just read the other post. But what I REALLY hate now that the iPhone 5 come out, we all stuck with a unit that we won't be able to use to its full if you get the new phone.

Scam

lexim, Amazon
6 October 2012
  • Summary: I ordered the Appradio 1 from them and when I had it installed the software wasn't up to date so I had to go spend $20 to buy an SD card, find a computer with a SD card slot in it and upload the software to the radio. On top of that, the cable connecting the Appradio to my Iphone did not work, so now I have to find a rare cable and spend more money on top of what I've already paid.
