Summary: I bought this unit a week after it was released in 2006 and love it. Feature rich, easy to use, and a great unit. Durability: Pretty durable overall. Only issue I've had is needed to clean the contacts for the face as it caused the display/controls to stop working. But that's a maintenance issue, as cleaning them off fixed the problem, so you can't blame the unit for that.
Summary: I was running an entery level Eclipse head, this head took the place of it. I was going to buy the Eclipse MK7200. As far as options, the Pioneer won. The Pioneer sound quality and the Eclipse are about the same. When I bought mine, so was the price...
Great deck, solid audible mic, BT func, Sirius display.

Summary: Sirius display shows songs names, artists, etc, which makes it much nicer than having a separate and bulky Sirius changer. Microphone worked with good audibility. The pre-outs of MOSFET 50Wx4 make mids and highs shine. Bluetooth sinc worked great with my old iPhone and new Android. Capability of loading own picture for color display. There are various displays that look nice and some follow the music. Played MP3 and showed folders with no problems.
Summary: Overall, this is a really good radio unit. I bought it specifically for its BT capabilities, but have encountered several glitches when connecting with my iPhone 3GS. Everything works fine, except I have to manually connect it every time I get in and out of the car, and it should do this automatically when the devices are in range. Well, pretty weird, specially for a product thats key selling point is BT. Everything else is great, has some really cool features.
Summary: This is my second 900 series Pioneer. This reciever is by far the best I have ever used. Equalizer controls are the best on the market. My first reciever is 6 years old now and still works perfect without any flaws. The new 980BT has a lot of enhancement over the previous models. The Blue Tooth feature is great, easily set up and clear as a bell. Pioneer has done it again offering the most advanced car stereos in the world.
Summary: If you want a wow factor in a DIN head unit...look no further. I've seen setups that cost twice as much that don't look this good. Pioneer really concentrated on asthetics over the common bland look of most stereos. The Bluetooth is built it, so you only need to attach the microphone and sync your phone..you can even store your phone numbers on the head unit! The color display on the unit displays your cd tracks like an MP3 player...
