Purchased this based on the audio forum reviews, the ...

John DeVita, Amazon
  • Summary: Purchased this based on the audio forum reviews, the unit I received drew 200ma while off, and killed multiple batteries. It took me a while diagnose what was causing the electrical drain, after and confirming with Pioneer support that it was the unit. Pioneer will not RMA the unit as "Amazon" is not an authorized re-seller.

Poor Quality Display

Mike, Amazon
4 June 2014
  • Summary: I used to be a hardcore Pioneer "premier" guy. I had the DEH-P900R, the DEH-P940MP, and lastly a DEH-P860MP. All amazing decks with great sound, amazing craftsmanship, they looked amazing, had bright, clear displays you could easily read from any angle, and sounded great. When I needed a new radio again years later, I went for the best 1-Din I could find from Pioneer...

Very tough to install

John B., Crutchfield
28 September 2012
  • Summary: This is not as easy to install as you might think. And the technical support, though the wait wasn't bad, were not much help getting the heater cable unhooked in order to remove the old radio. Yes, they supply all the parts (I think, I've yet to finish the installation), but there is a lot of splicing. There are no easy shortcuts. I'm taking it to installer after spending several hours trying to unhook the heater cable in my 2008 Subaru Outback.
  • Pros: It will probably be nice.
  • Cons: ...if I can ever get it installed. Better to buy from a reputable company that both sells and installs their equipment. Crutchfield can't install it for you unless you live in Virginia.

Problems with Ipod Touch

Bullitt, Crutchfield
28 September 2012
  • Summary: I have installed and won trophies with car systems I've installed in IASCA competition. Not a novice. Installed this in my Wife's Mach I. It is the most difficult head set to operate I've ever seen. She hates it. It also has a functionality problem. When she uses her Ipod Touch the unit always wants to bring up Pandora. Even if it's not playing Pandora when she plugs the Touch in or turns on the head unit.
  • Pros: It makes noise.
  • Cons: It has MAJOR flaws. Hard to use. Not user friendly AT ALL.

Waste of money and time!

Chuckski190, Crutchfield
15 September 2012
  • Summary: I was persuaded by Crutchfield's sales person to choose this piece of junk. The radio does look good in appearance when the radio is off! (at it's best, off) The display is so small that when driving it is hard to read and dangerous. My biggest complaint is when selecting the "source" the head unit would skip over what I wanted to listen to. Then I would have to source all the way through the selection and back to what I wanted to listen to.
  • Pros: Works and looks great OFF!
  • Cons: Horrible operations all around! Over priced for OFF operations.
