Summary: 3 and a half years in, and its still working great. Thats an accomplishment right there considering my son uses it everyday, and he's kinda hard on things. The install went easily with an aftermarket kit we purchased. The unit looks nice, functions as it should, works great with his amp. He mostly uses it with his iPod, but occasionally listens to plain old radio. It picks up stations great.
Summary: I'd give it 4 stars "Good", but at this price, it deserves 5 stars. I bought it after the face of my previous cd player got stolen out of the convertible. Since I had a Pioneer before, I figured I'd stick with the same brand and hopefully make installation a 5-minute job. That didn't work out, since they've changed the wiring harness since my old one was made, but I still think this was a good choice.
Summary: I chose this stereo because I wanted a simple control that allowed me to play radio and CDs and to also play songs from my iphone and ipod. I expected that once I plug in my iphone to the controller, I would be able to control songs directly from the iphone. Unfortunately, that's not how this works. In reality, song selection is done via the controller's interface such that all the songs on my iphone are displayed in one long playlist (500 songs to sort through).
Summary: Great CD player for the money. Has all the features of more expensive units with just as much punch. Stylish design that is layed out very nicely into a great looking unit. Highly recomend this to anyone.
Summary: I've had this unit for almost three months now. I got it to replace a DEH-445 from around 1998 that worked pretty well but I was tired of the various cons of CDs, like skipping, protecting them from and dealing with scratches, physically storing them, buying them, and being limited to 80 minutes' worth of songs. I wanted to be able to use a USB drive. As such this review will focus on that, as I have spent exactly no time on the radio or CD capabilities of it.
