Summary: 3 and a half years in, and its still working great. Thats an accomplishment right there considering my son uses it everyday, and he's kinda hard on things. The install went easily with an aftermarket kit we purchased. The unit looks nice, functions as it should, works great with his amp. He mostly uses it with his iPod, but occasionally listens to plain old radio. It picks up stations great.
Summary: Pioneer makes very high quality products. I have put this CD player through the test. I have switched out my car six times in the past three years and this CD player has gone from car to car because it is that good. Beside the quality the next best thing about this CD player is the ability to plug in any Apple device and be able to control your playback with the Ipod or Iphone.
Summary: I'd give it 4 stars "Good", but at this price, it deserves 5 stars. I bought it after the face of my previous cd player got stolen out of the convertible. Since I had a Pioneer before, I figured I'd stick with the same brand and hopefully make installation a 5-minute job. That didn't work out, since they've changed the wiring harness since my old one was made, but I still think this was a good choice.
Summary: I chose this stereo because I wanted a simple control that allowed me to play radio and CDs and to also play songs from my iphone and ipod. I expected that once I plug in my iphone to the controller, I would be able to control songs directly from the iphone. Unfortunately, that's not how this works. In reality, song selection is done via the controller's interface such that all the songs on my iphone are displayed in one long playlist (500 songs to sort through).
