Summary: At first reading all of the positive reviews made me buy this unit but after installing it, it has some serious firmware issues. This unit doesn't play video not very well or at all like it advertises. You can only play videos off of the smart card and even then, the video is jittery. At the rear of the unit it has video inputs but you can't add anything to it to play video.
Pros: Nice sound & RMS power, bluetooth works nice and voice commands work nicely.
Cons: Little to no video playback and when it plays, jittery. Volume cuts out completly without any warning, must reboot unit to get the volume back. Smart card limitations and very little applications available for download.
Summary: Update - I have owned this now for over a year and I have to downgrade my review to 2 stars (from 4). I wanted to love it, and I did... while it worked. Pressing any button on the unit causes the volume to increase. You can imagine how agonizingly obnoxious this is. Pressing again and praying will sometimes cause it to actually do what you want it to. Too bad.
Summary: Pros: great phone features, good call quality on both ends, phonebook download and voice commands work well. Cons: Long boot time, useless apps, for internet connectivity iPhone works out of the box but android phones dont (even though the thing is running android!), NO NAVIGATION, I REPEAT- NO NAVIGATION FUNCTIONALITY. After spending more money than you usually would on a head unit, the company tries to up-sell you with their app subscriptions.
Summary: It starts too slow (sometimes more than 5 minutes to start the system!). The system crashed to many times without reason. It died after 10 months. I'm now without car stereo on my car. I hope it was only my product.
Summary: I purchased this radio 3 weeks ago. I installed it into a 2002 Pontiac Trans AM. When doing the research I read about all the lockups and weird behavior. To be honest, in the three weeks of owning the unit, I have only had one pop and lock up. Then again, I am running the latest firmware. HARDWARE: The radio hardware is quality. Solid construction and the buttons and wheel feel good. Button layout is designed well to.
Summary: I waited and waited on this product and finally made my purchased in Jan 2012. I installed the unit in a Carrea 996, looked and sounded good, not great. In April Parrot updated the software, which changed the bass and some apps, now it sounds great. Unfortunately the unit died in May. It would only show the Welcome screen and nothing more. I was happy with the unit and attempted to return the unit to Frys.
Summary: I was so excited to buy this but gradually as I used it everyday, I just want to get my money back. The biggest problem are the crashes. Just listening to the radio can reboot the unit with a nerve rattling POP before shutting off. That is especially fun during a phone call.
Pros: Everyone compliments it. Well made.
Cons: Buggy, crashes and freezes. No clock when playing music. Volume controls are all over the place. Almost useless apps.
Summary: This would have been an amazing unit *IF* I checked with Parrot on compatibility SPECIFICALLY with the stock steering wheel of my 2013 Kia Rio Hatchback. After much research with Parrot and various forums, the unit had to be returned. Do your research FIRST!!!!
Summary: I have this radio for over a year now. When it works, it's great, but unfortunately, it keeps going wrong. It takes ages to load up after switching it on, It crashes when ever it feels like it, It is very temprementle. The Sat Nav and other Apps wont work unless you have a data contract with them. Overall, I'm not impressed. Time to buy a new one, and it won't be a Parrot!
