Summary: It's a little bit cheaper than they make the product out to be... The volume dial was the weakest... It's super cheap plastic and just wasn't to the quality that I was expecting... As for the other grief that some people have ranted about - - Yes it takes about 2 minutes to boot up - Installation instructions are nonexistent and can't be found online (good luck figuring out the wire colors without previous radio knowledge) - Scrolling through radio stations is AWFUL -...
Summary: Received a defective unit. Initially, the unit worked; however, after about a week, the unit died. Although it was replaced. Had planned on traveling and was unable to use the unit. Still have some problems, unit completely powers down, recycles, and begins again. Would cost too much to remove unit and re-install.
Summary: Looks like a great unit, acts like a great unit..... at first. Actually to tell the truth I think I had minor problems with it since day 1. However in the last month it has completely shut down, it has become a $300 car clock. Cannot update it, does not respond, and have had little luck with support. Definitely do not recommend this unit.
Summary: Parrot released an updated firmware for this device (2.0.1) which improved most of the issues everyone in the older reviews is complaining about. It also enabled their app store which has waze (turn-by-turn nav) and spotify (streaming web music) for free. The device pulls internet from my galaxy S4 with no issues and is mostly stable. Before judging the device with ratings from 2010, read about the updated firmware and more recent reviews.
Summary: Nice stereo unit. Since I bought it I decided to update it to the lastest software version and so far the device is working with no problems at all. I love how many different sources can you plug at the same time and also the possibility of running apps like waze and tunein even at the background. Bluetooth tethering from my Nexus phone works like a charm and there is not problem to answer and make phones calls from the unit.
Summary: I researched a lot of different car stereos before I finally settled on this one. I chose it because I wanted a system that could interface with my iPhone 5 for phone calls and music playing in my 2001 Audi TT, and Parrot has a long track record with Bluetooth interfacing. I managed to install this unit myself, although it was a bit of a fight. This seemed to be more of a problem with my car than the head unit.
Summary: Got it in Amazon for almost half the base price so i can't complain. New beta software took care of many bugs. I love the voice commands. Makes my car seem so futuristic! I hope that Parrot continues to support this product.
Summary: Unit works most of the time, but every now and then it just decides not to work. Sometimes I have to downgrade the software and then upgrade it back to the current version. The voice control works well, and the included bluetooth features work very well also. It just likes to randomly reboot itself while working. Very frustrating.....
Summary: It crushes all the time. It worked a couple of months and now not even turn on. Is the worst product I purchased. I live outside the USA and I can not use the warranty. I am really disappointed.
Summary: I was looking for replacement car stereo for my original 88 Lincoln town car and I found the Parrot Asteroid radio in Amazon. The parrot fit perfectly blending into the interior. The sound is amazing with access to the SD card and the USB connector you will have unlimited music to choose from. I highly recommend the Parrot radio.
