Summary: I love the sound, and do to my space limitations, I used 5 1/4 inch Polk speakers. The main reason for getting this unit was the ability to use a USB memory stick, 16 gig that's more than enough to hold my music. I didn't want a CD for salt water to get into the slot, and being installed on a boat, CDs and vibration don't mix. I have used it with my IPOD, and that works fine. I prefer just to use a memory stick and leave the expensive IPOD at home. Now the down side.
Summary: Just replaced a broken Sony easy install fit the same hole and most of the screws also matched. I love the I-pod dock sounds great with 2 JBL 6 1/2 " speakers I want to put this same unit in my truck
Summary: Bought this last year and went through a full summer with it in our Sanger V215. My only complaint was the display was impossible to see, once I figuered out to reverse the contrast it was 100% better. This head unit is great if you are going to use your IPod. The radio isnt the greatest, but TBH I think that has far more to do w/ the antena then the radio. I run this through a Clarion EQ and 3 MBQuart Amps and LOVE it!!!!!
Summary: Purchased this for our boat. Install was not difficult. The sound quality is good, and the display is easy to read. Cons: After 2 hours of play, my IPOD was very hot. We had trouble installing the wired remote, but a call to Kenwood's 800 number got us quick resolution (hold time 2 minutes). Getting information on how to set up Sirius is extremely difficult to find. It seems they want you to use a professional. This unit comes with no antenna, so make sure you buy one.
Summary: I own a 2004 BMW 1200 CLC and the factory radio's are prone to an error code "No Radio" making them not function properly. I Searched the internet for a solution not finding much. On a Wing and a prayer I bought a Kenwood KMR-550U along with Kenwood kca-rc107mr. Being a "Marine" unit I am hoping there is some protection against the elements. So far it sounds great, and works excellent.
