Summary: I purchased one of these about a year ago at a local audio shop. It's a pretty good head unit with a lot of functionality, which is both a blessing and a curse. You can tweak just about everything, but that comes at the cost of having to navigate two levels deep in menus to change the fader or balance that would be on a knob on an old-school head unit. However, in USB mode, these head units have an issue with locking-up. The 994 unit had a similar issue.
Summary: Overall this is a pretty good CD player, but I expected more. No one could hear me on the mic via bluetooth after I adjusted several time and tried with different phones. The audio processing is very good, but after six months it will randomly "reboot", sometimes continually for up to ten or fifteen minutes. Sometimes the audio connection to my ipod is poor and scratchy and requires a reboot to fix.
Summary: This HU is everything I wanted. BT connects from my Android Raz and it is flawless. External mic. is crystal clear, even with the windows down. So many colors to choose from, I love options. Can control my sub and amp from the HU, sweet. The USB hook up is exactly what I wanted. I haven't even used the CD player, may never use it. Sound is Kenwood sound, do I need to even say anymore? Better than Pioneer no doubt. Feel is kinda cheap, not what I expected from Kenwood.
Summary: I purchased this Kenwood to replace a weak Pioneer CD/Radio in my truck. I am just blown away with the power and the features. I automatically connect my Bluetooth Samsung phone when I get in. I use a 4 gig thumbdrive with massive tunes and if that wasn't enough I still have great a CD player, an auxillary input jack; 2 AM bands, 2 FM bands and all those wonderful HD channels! The install took about 45 minutes and did not involve any rocket science.
Summary: This unit has SO many features, but my favorite is the bluetooth and PANDORA radio function. PROS -wide equalizer function, great sound, high power outs -bluetooth -HD radio built in -Pandora -Cool colors/design CONS -display is not bright enough to be easily used during daytime driving. Extreme glare. You will want tinted windows. Overall, recommended, but glare is really annoying.
