Summary: my Fiance bought this for me for christmas. its awsome i love it. i recently bought a new car and need a special harness but the second i have the money for it, this guy is going into my truck.
Summary: I bought this to put in my 1984 F150 with for the sole purpose for the music on my ipod. This thing is the real deal. Sleek design, very easy to use, and everything you'd expect from Kenwood. The iPod interface is easy to use and that in itself is worth the money. If you're looking for headunit that not only looks good, but performs as good as it looks then this is it.
Summary: Honestly, I thought this cd player was awesome! One of my favorite equalizer setups, very good subwoofers controls. Ipod controls were great as well, very nice display. Mine decided to explode, literally! Smoke poured out of it and smelled terrible! Kenwood has always been good to me before this...
Summary: I had an alpine 9886 before it got stolen. That head unit was very nice. However, I wanted to get something different so I went with this one. It was ok for the price, but it lagged a lot, I mean a lot. Also the faceplate will not fit on properly. Also it turned off by itself sometimes, I guess because it was pressed for space, but I really hated when it happened.
Summary: I'm loving this Kenwood receiver. It's easy to install, put it in my Civic and it looks great, went in really easy. The sound is clear, balanced and brings out the best in whatever genre I'm pumpin'. IT took me a little while to customize my settings but once I got it I've been really happy with it's options. All around stellar receiver.
Summary: This deck is awesome, I've had a couple "iPod ready" stereos and this one sounds the best and is the easiest I've ever used! Sound quality is top notch- you can even select the sound by what type of vehicle you drive or what size speakers you have. If your looking to replace your tired stereo and are fed up with CD's cluttering up your vehicle this is the right choice.
Summary: Menu is cryptic at best, but once you get over that small hump in the beginning you are greeted by one of the most capable CD/USB/Radio receiver in the market. Installation is a breeze if you're upgrading from an older model, I went from a KDC-X979 and the plug was the same. So it was a "swap" deal. Compared to my old Kenwood deck...
Summary: I bought this unit primarily for the USB/AUX inputs. The system was easy to install and sounds decent(not great). Here's my view on it: Pros: + Easy to install + Good instructions + USB works(but not well) + Decent sound Cons: - USB folders not supported(flattens file system) - USB file sorting is strange. I had to rename files and still did not show up in good order - File names too long to see without scrolling - Navigation is HORRIBLE.
Summary: This is a great sounding car unit with an incredible feature set once you figure out 1)how to customize the many settings to meet your needs; and 2)how to navigate the many many features using the controls. Give it about a week and you will be impressed with the versatility and ability of this unit.
