Summary: Good unit easy to install, set up, and operate. Controls are nice unit looks good..nice options. I like the Bluetooth phone feature and the ability to hook up a usb device as an option music source. Didn't want the usb device to plug in to the face of my unit.
Summary: I bought this unit just for the BT audio streaming function and steering wheel remote control capability. I've been a long time buyer/user of Kenwood decks, so I knew from the start how user unfriendly the interface was, but then again, those that know Kenwood units should know this going into the purchase. It's been two years now since I bought this unit, and it's seen several cars and trucks in that time.
Summary: Ive had mine about a year and love it. THE BAD: the sound on the microphone is terrible; no matter what adjustments I try, no one can understand me. And the menus are deep and confusing. THE GOOD: once you get things set up, the iPod and bluetooth interfaces are great, and the sound quality is fantastic. Plus, with its minimalist face and cables behind the HU, it looks good too.
Summary: I'm on my second head and several times a week the sound mutes out for no reason and I have to reset the whole system. And now resetting doesn't work. Then I'll get out of the car for a few hours and come back and it's suddenly working. I love the ipod interface (though searching is slow and awkward), and the bluetooth, but when the sound goes out if I get a call I have to pull over and reset the sound source on my iphone so we can communicate.
Summary: I bought this unit because my 20 year old nephew had one in his car and I liked it. I LOVE the bluetooth matchup with my IPhone4 . auto sync every time I get in the car, no hands fumbling with the phone... I don't know about voice dialing since I havent tried that yet. but an incoming call? Fantastic. I had an older Pioneerand there is no comparison. This Kenwood is nicer, newer, more featured, crisper.
Summary: After reading TC's comments it made both my radios better. I'm glad i was able to still find this one as the New Stereos are Really hard to find with the A2DP BT protocol for streaming Audio. i found that this Head unit has everything to offer. from BT HF/Audio, AUX input Front/Rear/Sub Outputs and full control, and more. one of the other main reasons i came back to this unit, for a second time, was the USB input was in the back not the front.
Summary: Have you ever called a company your a customer of and they gave you the "well its the system that doesn't do that and we have to go by the system" cr*p? This thing wants buttons pressed in a certain order, some screens cant be accessed without accessing others.. its a HUGE distraction when driving. The interface sucks bad... don't waste your time on this one.
