Summary: Awesome Radio. The Garmin that is built in works great if you update the maps. DVD movies run good. Has nice ouputs for SUBs. I have had many DVD indash units over the years. this one is the best so far, but only after its been updated.
Summary: I was looking for a good in-dash nav system for my wife's car, and the main features I was interested in were the ability to add Mexico maps and dual-zone audio for the kids in the back in our 4Runner. I settled on this unit because it had those features, plus the Lane Assist. I ended up purchasing 2 of them: one for my wife's car and one for mine.
Summary: I had this unit installed in my 2001 F150 King Ranch. Previous reviews were talking about it being slow. It is not slow to me. Few seconds to boot up and thats it. I added rear camera, it all works awesome. The application chart will say it wont fit, but my audio guys said it would. It looks like it came from factory.
Summary: Unit arrived and it was professionally installed by Best Buy Geek Sqard. Kenwood only worked for twenty-eight minutes! Then when I started the car an hour later the unit would display on and off the Kenwood logo nothing worked!! No power on, none of the controls would work. Unit just kept on flashing "Kenwood". Before the unit crashed the GPS was sluggish to display the location on the maps. Radio had poor reception in the seek mode.
Summary: I have had this unit for a year now. It is actually got alot of nice ideas and a great looking menu setup. However i think the hardware can not run the software they built in this unit. It is sooo deathly slow. I read that on reviews before i bought it and i figured.. those people are nuts... but then i got it. it is beyond me why KENWOOD would release a unit that preforms so badly. I would expec this from Jenson or Dual.. but Kenwood..?
Summary: I bought this unit at Best Buy and got great deal on it. I have read several reviews about how slow this unit was. I took a chance due to the price and free install on it and I'm glad I did. Like several people said this unit was very slow. The first thing I done was updated the software on it and it runs much faster now. Mine came with version 1.4. I downloaded the latest version 1.7 and this all took around 10 minutes to download and install.
Summary: I purchased this receiver over a year ago and installed it myself. I chose it because of the solid feature-set, Kenwood name and Garmin navigation. One year in I'm happy with most of the features (iPhone integration mostly) and the audio quality, however the whole device is slow. Not just a little slow, like press a button and wait three seconds slow.
Summary: This unit looks great! Has a great interface (for the most part) and is pretty good at some things..... however its soooooo sloooooow!! Every function from changing sources to navigating through any menu system takes time.... I even found the GPS to be sluggish.. I would turn onto a street and it would take 3 to 5 seconds or so to figure out that I even turned.... That was disappointing to me consider Garmin GPS was the reason I got the thing... also the EQ is terrible!!
