Great Sound with an Ipod

Bluesea, Beach Audio
28 December 2008
  • Summary: I bought this for the hands free blue tooth cell phone feature. I also wanted something that had plug and play Ipod hands free. I am happy that I bought this . I wish the controls were easier to operate and when using the cell phone it sounds a little tin canish. The installation was a breeze and the usb cable is long enough to reach all over the front seat.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Install, Nice Features
  • Cons: Difficult Controls, Its hard to drive and man

Great multimedia receiver

SlipSlipSlip, Beach Audio
20 November 2008
  • Summary: Great receiver although the controls are a little bit on the slow side. The kdavx44 will play pretty much anything you could reasonably want in your car but the lack of a traditional volume knob can get annoying.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Nice Features
  • Cons: Slow controls

Great Receiver

Cody, Beach Audio
13 November 2008
  • Summary: This is a great receiver with a lot of features. I love the USB and Bluetooth functions. The screen looks great and has awesome detail. One of the only cons are, it can be difficult at some times to change the volume or mess with certain features while driving. My only other problem is with the remote, while listening to MP3's or the USB feature with hundreds of songs, you cant imput the song number.
  • Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Install, Nice Features
  • Cons: Difficult Controls

Great unit

Spence, Beach Audio
17 September 2008
  • Summary: I chose this head unit for my '97 M3 mainly for the appearance so it wouldn't look out of place. It looks great installed and doesn't look like a blatant aftermarket addition. It's packed with features, plays all types of media, etc. It was a little tight to fit everything in the dash with all the added RCA connections in addition to the harness.
  • Pros: Great Picture
  • Cons: Difficult Controls

Great unit with a few drawbacks...

Robert, Beach Audio
13 September 2008
  • Summary: Great unit overall, loaded with almost every conceivable option (minus navigation and built in HD)! Let's start w/the negative. The controls in general are hard to use while driving, due to the touchscreen. It requires too many steps to access functions. As the touch panel is a smooth surface, there is no tactile feedback and thus requires looking. Now, my biggest gripe is the volume control.
  • Pros: Durable, Easy To Install, Great Picture
  • Cons: Difficult Controls, MP3 Folder Navigation

Cool, but has it's flaws...

Brucifizzle, Beach Audio
29 August 2008
  • Summary: Has a ton of Features, but ipod responce is sluggish and navigation through the menus is slightly annoying from time to time. My biggest problem with the unit is that the volume is very difficult to control unless you use the remote control and once in a while when I try to turn the volume down, it cranks up to max volume by itself and won't let me turn it down for a couple of seconds. ( Not good with 3 amps hooked up!!!
  • Pros: Great Picture, Tons Of Features
  • Cons: Difficult Controls, Glitchey Here and There, Odd Menu Navigation, Super Slow Ipod Controls

JVC KD-AVX44: Interesting style of control!

damsmi2002, Dooyoo
10 January 2009
  • Summary: Whilst at first you may be wondering how on earth you operate this unit(there are no buttons) it soon becomes apparant that JVC has produced a stereo which offers something more than just your average unit would. It is controlled using a touchpad, which at first is strange and takes some getting used to, however once this is done, you will wonder how you lived without it!
  • Pros: Has everything you could want from a stereo!
  • Cons: Costly
