The Jensen MP5010k car stereo has a total of 240 watts peak power (60 watts peak per channel) which is the highest internally amplified power of any Jenson Car Stereo I have been able to find. Actually, I have never found any other manufacturer that offers this much power in a indash unit. Of coarse this comes at a price, not in dollars but in degrees fahrenhiet. This unit becomes extremely hot to the touch behind the faceplate, so much that you could almost cook an egg on it. Perhaps this extreme heat is what causes the LCD display to fail. I have replaced the faceplate 3 times and I am now without display again. During the really cold winter months it takes it a bit to function properly and the display's opening motion is extremly slow. Overall the Jensen MP5010k is loaded with features, including 6 RCA outputs for external amplifiers with 2 dedicated to the subwoofer which can be controlled from the deck itself, 2 RCA ins for auxillary input. all of which are located in the rear of the unit. 30 radio presets with 10 preset buttons located along the bottom edge of the faceplate. It can scan up to 7 subdirectories when seaching for MP3 files. The display scrolls, but for long file names this can be annoying due to the slow rate at which the LCD display scrolls. I have owned this unit for 12 years and have replaced it twice. I would recommend this unit, for I baought a 2nd one when it failed. If the display worked without the LCD backlight failing I would have given this 5 STARS (Especially for a stereo priced between $170-$225 with all th features the MP5010k offers, but since functionality is most important, I only gave it a score of 3 STARS.
