Summary: I got this from a friend who was putting in a deck with navigation - this stereo is great for me - it looks very similar to my nissan titans stock stereo so as to put off potential thieves. I have my old iPod in the glove box connected by their USB line. The Bluetooth works great but I agree with other reviews complaining about difficulty pairing my phone. I finally got it after what must have been 30 minutes if fighting with the very poor manual and pairing interface.
Summary: All I wanted was a stereo to replace the stock stereo in my Ford Truck, because the stock stereo has no inputs on it. This looked like a good option, I had Best Buy perform the installation. A year later my truck lost battery power, and after jump-starting it the stereo is now locked. The manual says NOTHING about the "PCODE" prompt. The internet says that the system is locked due by the anti-theft system and must be unlocked by Best Buy.
Summary: Great system...does everything I need it to do and more! Paired up with the Sirius receiver, have access to Sat Radio. Using the USB cable into the glovebox, able to add a 300GB hard drive for my music, and access is pretty decent. Great system for the money..Who needs in-dash navigation when most cell phones these days have them....
Summary: The Good - Bluetooth works well with my iPhone - The forward skip and backward skip now work with iOS 4.2 and greater - Understated design does not attract attention - Nice volume button The Bad - The stereo automatically connects to the audio bluetooth signal of my iphone when I start the car even when the radio was the last thing I was using. (This drives me crazy!) The stereo should never change the source with me directly telling it to.
Summary: Granted you have to jailbreak your phone (I recently did it to get tethering), this solution really makes the hands free worth while. After jailbreaking download Bluetooth Profile Selector by Ramon de Klein. Evidently this app was created specifically to solve the problem of interfacing with a car kit via A2DP. Anyway, just find the entry for your CX609 and disable A2DP. This will prevent the auto running of the iPod, Pandora, etc.
Summary: First I want to say this is a really nice unit once you figure out the menus. I love how the dash lights make this unit look like it is stock. It is simple to operate once you get done setting it up. If you have been reading these reviews you already know the instructions are terrible. A helpful hint for the setup menus; In most menus there are general settings, and custom settings, the general settings are limited and only give you a few select choices.
Summary: I bought this set because I wanted: -Mp3/Ipod ability -Double DIN -Blue Tooth for my phone -Reasonable looks For the money you can't beat this unit - it fit great in my 2002 wrx, though I had a professional install it and he ended up needing to add a wiring harness to it for the connections. I keep the iPod cord in my glovebox, which seems to work just fine.
