Summary: One thing I can give Clarion is that their sound quality is unmatched. They beat all the other brands I've tried including Pioneer, Sony & JVC. The last one I owned was a Clarion CZ500. It was solid and worked really well. This one is a backward step in many ways. The bluetooth on this is REALLY HORRIBLE. It constantly cuts out and I have to pause it, wait 2 seconds and play again for it to stop.
Summary: Positives: - Looks great, comes with an installation shim for Nissans and Toyotas. - built in microphone for bluetooth Negatives: - Non-intuitive controls. - Bluetooth music constantly cuts out. Doesn't matter if I use an android phone or an iphone. Disappointing since this the most convenient mode for listening to music from a mobile device. Clarion has promised to release a firmware update to fix this problem, but we see nothing so far.
Summary: I've installed this stereo in my wife's 1998 Camry. The sound quality is great, with a major Bluetooth caveat. Pairing a phone for the first time is easy enough, and goes pretty well. However, with an iPhone 4 or 4S (not tried with any other models), the stereo will NOT auto-pair on power up, which is just MADDENING. You have to go into Bluetooth settings on your iPhone EVERY time, and click on the stereo name to re-connect.
Summary: ***NEW REVIEW**** After nearly 1 year using, I am quite disappointed on this unit. The display is very of bad quality. First of all under sun, it's really hard to read. Secondly, I started to see display problems...missing letter. Clarion really has to improve the display...compared to Pionneer, it is way too far. ***OLD REVIEW***** OK, I now tested the product. The quality of the sound is great, lot of options on the equalizers.
