Summary: After about a month of using this radio with my 2008 Chevy Colorado, I can safely say it is worth every cent (yes, there are MANY with this considering the price) I spent on it. The touch screen is surprisingly responsive and doesn't give me too many issues, and it is (generally) simple to figure out. The display is surprisingly good, if a bit washed out, but still does what's needed. The most important thing is how well the sound quality stacks up with others.
Pros: The sound on this radio is VERY good for the normal and a bit into higher end. It starts hissing at the high end, but that is most likely due to my speakers still being stock. Either way... Incredible. The display is also very well lit. It isn't hard on my eyes like my previous Pioneer radio. It's also still bright enough to be easy to see no matter what. The colors are a bit washed out, however, in videos. But,,, Are you really going to watch that many videos on a ra...
Cons: Some options (like the way to adjust time) are buried or impossible to find, even after reading the directions. It gets a bit frustrating on that end, but nothing too bad.
Summary: Purchased this to upgrade a older alpine stereo. Works great can bluetooth audio from our phones, samsung and apple. Controls for our ipod classic have great search features. Sound quality is good standard adjustments for alpine with subwoofer control.
Pros: Ease of use, good touch screen features.
Cons: Having to connect wiring into parking brake and brake pedal connections factory wiring.
Summary: System is great but is not plug and plug even with a harness. You will have to go sift though wiring and find your parking break and foot brake wiring, if you don't you will basically have a 50 dollar stereo that only plays radio and Bluetooth, settings will be disabled so you won't even be able to turn on a backup cam or get into basic settings.
Pros: fast boot up, nice feature set, good BT. DVD works great and USB reads and plays nicely
Cons: Severly crippled by default without parking brake and foot brake wiring. Reads USB Memory a bit slow.
Summary: This is a excellent head unit it works with the Alpine NVE m300 navigation unit the only thing I don't like is that Alpine doesn't use the loudness button any more so you have to crank the volume up to at least 20 in order to get you subs to bump really loud other than that its a excellent unit easy to use and allows you to have the gps with out buying the more expensive unit.
Pros: easy to use work with Alpine NVE m300 navigation module
Summary: Bought this to put an Alpine screen in the rear. Works excellent. I really like that I can shut the front screen off and just play it in back. Very nice Ipod functionality and on screen phone display. I plan on adding a Clarion rear view camera.
Pros: Nice display. Screen blackout function. Interfaces with everything. Recognizes my phone everytime i enter. Expandability for amps in the future. Excellent picture
Cons: Bluetooth phone quality needs improvement. I am going to try one of the new Parrot double mics. People say it sounds like its breaking up.
Summary: I used to be an Alpine guy, until I bought this radio a few months back. I bought it for two, well, really three reasons: ALPINE name, Alpine's ipod connectivity and bluetooth. I honestly thought that since it was an Alpine unit with a Parrot bluetooth core, it would be a win win situation, I WAS WRONG!
Pros: It looks cool, the display quality is great!
Cons: Bluetooth quality, to be honest, it just sucks! The PANDORA interface with the ipod is poor, it won't allow you to do much with it. The search functionality while on ipod it SLOWWWWWWW. If you are looking for a good around unit, look somewhere else.
Summary: I have been using Alpine products for over 25 years and they keep getting better. This is the second touch screen DVD units and again they keep getting better. I simply love the Bluetooth audio. As soon as it is on my Galaxy S III syncs and picks right up with my playlist.
Pros: Bluetooth audio, sound quality.
Cons: I hate the stupid foot brake/parking brake dance that rarely works right.
