Whatever you do be careful if you update the firmware!.

Jason A. Hirsch, Amazon
28 August 2013
  • Summary: When I first purchased this headunit it worked fairly well with my IPhone. The one item that didn't work was changing songs via the headunit on Pandora which really didn't bother me all that much. Then Apple updated their Iphone firmware and the trouble started. The headunit lost many of it's compatibility features with the iphone and it took months for Alpine to address the issue.

Alpine user for over 10 years

FirstOnScene, Amazon
26 June 2013
  • Summary: I love my new receiver. It replaced my old one that I had for 10 years. The new features of HD radio and the front input for both audio and USB make it possible to connect several ways. The iPhone/iPod control makes it even more user friendly. It not only controls the iPhone but charges it at the same time. The hands free answering and talking through the USB or bluetooth makes driving and talking so much easier.

Decent radio. Not great for USB.

jamie newton, Amazon
27 May 2013
  • Summary: I am a long time Alpine customer. This radio has the usual sound quality you would expect from Alpine. The menus for using the USB are are seriously lacking. My stock base Kia Sorento has a better user interface. The audio quality for the hand free phone is also problematic. Can't be used with widows or air conditioning running without excessive noise.

  • Summary: Multifunction volume control knob is too sensitive and it is too complicated to get back to previous function. I also would like to have a mute function.

auto connect problems with bluetooth on android phones

ctuna, Amazon
4 April 2013
  • Summary: This is a OK deck but it has problems auto connecting to android devices. It will only connect intermittently to my HTC Inspire 4g from att&t. I just did and update to it today and that does not fix the problem. I have tried the hard resets to the phone and deck , plus the alpine onsite update and it doesn't help. It just won't auto connect to my phone reliably .
