Summary: I bought this because it was the cheapest deck to match Alpine's plug and play amp. Match these up with some nice speakers and you have acceptable sound that won't make you cry if it is stolen out of your car.
Summary: I bought this unit several months ago after lot of research. Features are excellent and sound is great. It also has external mic that was a must because I use a lot the phone in the highway so i needed the better sound I can get for a decent price. I found the same issue from other reviewers, where some songs depending on the title characters, when you turn off the unit hearing that song, and then turn on, changes some amp and bt configuration.
Summary: I have had the player for 2 years now and it still bumps but... The volume knob presses in too easily to the functions. I still end up pushing it sometimes when I want to adjust the volume then have to wait several seconds for it to go back to volume mode. I use it strictly with my ipod or hard drive which will plug direct into the faceplate. Far too often the deck causes my ipod to freeze up with the apple logo which takes the ipod a few minutes to reboot.
Summary: I received the Alpine CD receiver CDE-103BT as a gift and had it professionally installed. It wasn't too long after that the Cd player started to skip and sound garbled. I paid attention to when it happened. I tried it on all different CD's and driving conditions; smooth roads, bumpy roads, turning, going straight, sitting still & the results were the same. Its the Player scratching and garbling not the discs. Then it began to shut off randomly and cycle back on.
Summary: Bought this unit for my 03 chevy silverado and it's awesome--i've owned other head units in the past but always come back to alpine--so to save myself some time and money--i just go alpine now first time and it's done. The built in blue tooth works great--i listen to my music kinda loud--loud enough that when my phone would ring i would miss the call because i didn't hear it ring--well that problem is solved--now when i'm crusing and have it loud--the music cut off and...
Summary: I got this and a 16 GB ($50.00) usb memory stick to have all my music, this piece of crap will only acept 99 files on the USB, I have less than 1 GB on data on my memory stick to play on this Sh...t now I'll have to buy a data cable ($25.00) and an Ipod, only to experiment and find out if this crap will work with all my songs.
Summary: Just had this installed professionally in my 9 year old Camry. Electronics have come a long way. Features present: single Cd-player plays commercial, home made audio, and home made mp3 (data CD) cds flawlessly, sound is crystal clear, don't know why anybody would complain about this aspect of the unit. Alpine tonal quality outstanding even in the absence of DSP adjustments which other models/brands have, guess you don't need that stuff when you build a quality unit!
Summary: This deck is good for its price range. The only problem is that when playing CDs, its skips the first second from each song. This is not due to a scratched CD, which i originally thought. I burned a new CD and the problem persisted. Other than that I really like this deck. Dependable and worth almost every penny.
