The CDA-9887 device is IMPRINT ready, by adding an IMPRINT PXA-H100 Audio Processor; it is capable for automatic sound tuning or powerful manual tuning options. Besides that, it is built with MultEQ that uses more than 500 control points along the frequency spectrum that provides greater precision and optimizes sound reproduction. In addition, it uses a 24-Bit Burr-Brown D/A converter to provide wide dynamic range and high precision sound reproduction. Its Biolite Display technology provides better visibility in all lighting condition, even bright daylight. This head unit also allows sounds customization for its user and provides 6 channels of Digital Time Correction, 3-way or 2-way crossover, 7-band graphic EQ or 5-band parametric EQ. Moreover, it plays iPod songs by connect the head-unit to the iPod via KCE-422i. With Full Speed feature, user enables to navigate Playlists, Artists, Albums, and Songs in the iPod and QuickSearch technology makes the searching even faster. I just bought an Alpine 9887, installed it and then tried to plug my 3rd Generation Ipod Nano and found out that is not recognized, does anybody have any clues?

So i have read the manual a few times and i cant figure out if the MultEQ is on or off? It says if its off the bass and treble cannot be adjusted which is true! I can never adjust them, which i want too!! Any ideas?

As I understand it, MultiEQ can only be turned on if you have the optional Imprint tuning kit (about $250 USD). With MultiEQ on, you get bass/treble adjustment. Without it, you have to adjust treble/bass in the graphic EQ or parametric
