Summary: I installed this in a Dragonfly detachable fairing on my 2006 Road King Custom. Along with the head unit, I also installed a KTP-445U - Alpine 4-Channel 45W RMS Power Amplifier (can't beat the price, and the size is perfect). The install was easy enough, though I had to fabricate a bracket for the head unit to sit on inside of the fairing. The wiring was straight forward, and pretty easy to accomplish.
Summary: I installed the unit on my HD Road Glide. It puts out very good sound, looks great and appears well constructed. It's too early to say how well it will last in the enviorment. Now for the downside, it skips way to easy with a long delay in restarting the play, the trim piece also does not want to stay locked in place so I'll have to use a bit of silicone on it.
Summary: Great sounding head unit blue display hard to see in direct sunlight. Have sat radio connected also Ipod controlled by this head unit.....would buy again! Seems to have survived 1st year just fine, Its an Alpine!!!
Conclusion: Good nice looking radio.. I have it installed in my `90 Jeep Wrangler.. It is in a overhead Tuffy Security console.. The lighting and readability is great - day or night.. I love how everything is controlled by the unit itself.. I run my ipod through it and everything is done off the unit not the ipod.. I bought marine grade because of the elements I put my stuff through on the trails...
Summary: Put one in my Harley with optional kpt445 amp.Sound is great compared to other cd players i have had.The only reason its not a 5 star rating is display could ve been brighter for viewing in bright sun ,otherwise a nice unit.
