love it

  • Excerpt: easy to use, love the level on it, the crank handle to raise the camera up to a certain level that you wish to us. I also love the bag that comes with it, my other tripod did not come with a carrying case. I leave it right in my car for outside use.

Vivitar VPT-2457 Photo/Video Tripod

  • Excerpt: I love this versatile, light-weight, compact tripod! Comes with a nice travel bag, so it can easily be placed in luggage, and probably a carry-on (depending on the size of the carry-on). Also, the levels and detachable mount make this an added value!

Good for the money.

  • Excerpt: This tripod is decent for the price. Features include quick release adapter for the camera, quick locking levers for the leg length adjustments and locking collar for the braces. Everything else is pretty much standard. A couple nice extras include a carry handle on the tripod itself and a carrying and storage bag. Overall, the quality is in line with the price. Lots of plastic. The pan head is a little stiff or very loose. Don't expect fluid head - like operation.

  • Excerpt: The Vivitar Tripod I bought in late January, went with me to Guatemala. It is light & fits perfectly in a medium sized suitcase. It traveled with me across Lake Atitlan and was used for several video location shoots. Good product!!!

Works well

21 February 2014
  • Excerpt: At first I was concerned about the thin extensions that are the bottom-most parts of the legs, but they are sturdy and lock into place quite tightly. The connection piece to the camera screws on snugly and securely (which is always a concern if using an expensive camera on a tripod!). The only wobbly issue I have found is when you fully extend the top part with the crank handle..
  • Pros: Extends Smoothly, Good Stability, Lightweight
  • Cons: Not For Heavy Cams
