Excerpt: I love that the Velbon Stick is lightweight and small enough to fit in my purse. I carry it and my camera with me a all time - I never know when I see something that captures my attention. I do many small scale music videos and it is perfect for stabilizing my shots. I also have a medical condition where my hands shake and it helps in low light hand heals shots too.
Pros: Can use in self defence, Compact, Easy to use, Fit's in my purse, Lightweight, Opens Quickly, Ready to go anytime, Strong Construction
Excerpt: I really love this little monopod. It is the perfect size for my Sony NEX-5N. I can carry it easily with my camera bag and pop it out to steady a shot. The construction is top notch. This monopod is easy to use as it clicks to the left (counter-clockwise) to extend the leg sections, one click per section. To lock the sections, click back to the right (clockwise) and lightly tighten.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Opens Quickly, Strong Construction
Excerpt: Nice lightweight, decent height monopod. Unfortunately after using it for a week one of the plastic bits that sit in the end of each tube managed to loosen up. This allowed the end tube to come free from the monopod itself. A better grade plastic material would have likely prevented this as the clip appears quite soft. IF you're extremely gentle this may work out, but I found while twisting it open/free it worked loose quickly.
Summary: The M50 has already proved to be a great support for my Lumix G5 when out walking. It's light and easily fits into a small backpack. When combined with a lightweight head, it can be left attached to the camera if needed and locked off parallel with the lens. In this configuration, with the Lumix G Vario 100-300mm on the G5, the M50 projects just 20cm beyond the lens and the whole thing weighs 1.3Kg, not bad for a 600mm (35mm equivalent) supported zoom outfit!
Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Quickly Deployed
