Velbon Ultra Luxi L

Scott, Crutchfield
16 December 2012
 • Summary: This tripod is well made. I like the folded size and weight. I purchased a little back pack and it fits perfectly on the side. It was really easy to use and fold away once I started getting used to it. There could have been more instructions for me but someone that is good at using devices should have no problems using this. As for the weight, it was pretty light. I compared it to other cheaper tripods and there was no comparison.
 • Pros: Small and light weight, easy to use.
 • Cons: Didn't come with instructions for the average user.

Really Solid for its weight and size

ARW, B&H Photo
16 June 2011
 • Excerpt: Although not a substitute for a "heavyweight" tripod, this tripod is hard to beat for its size, weight and ease of use. Although rated for only 4.4 pounds, I am sure it could take more and slips easily into a backpack.
 • Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly

light, versatile and intuitive

 • Excerpt: I bought it based on the good reviews and the fact that it's very light. It's very versatile (multiple leg angles, tall at full height, folds small). It's also very intuitive to use. I love the levels on the head as well, makes life easier in setting up a shot.

Love this compact tripod

Mike James, B&H Photo
14 November 2010
 • Excerpt: In "the old days", I owned several top-end Velbon tripods, so when I was shopping for a compact version, to carry in a daypack, I again looked to that company. (and trust B&H)

I wasn't disappointed. The tripod arrived quickly, packed well, and is exactly the thing to have in a hiking/camping bag, without adding too much weight and bulk.
