Outstanding Product / Outstanding Value

Pterri, B&H Photo
14 February 2014
  • Excerpt: Works great! I suspect that another reviewer, who had a problem with the unit, may not have had the tension properly engaged. Without properly engaging the tension, that is how the tripod behaves. Once turning on tension, you must tilt down and then up to engage it.

Large amount of play in tilt

Kyle, B&H Photo
27 November 2013
  • Excerpt: The tilt on this head has a huge amount of play, impossible to go from a static to tilting shot without a jump of about a 1/4" prior to the drag kicking in. The pan however was flawless.

Good Stuff

Hugh, B&H Photo
25 June 2013
  • Excerpt: I will use this product on my Slik tripod with my Nikon D600 camera and Nikon 80-400 lens, primarily to catch trains. I will level my tripod by adjusting the leg length and pan and tilt the Vanguard PH-123V as I follow the locomotive.I chose this product because it's robust, has variable friction...

Excellent Fluid Head for DSLRs

emphotographer, Adorama
26 March 2013
  • Excerpt: This is an excellent fluid head for small cameras. It is solidly built yet light weight. The fluid motion for panning and tilting is very smooth and tilting is very controllable. Unit should have more control for panning however, although the default action is very good for making videos.
  • Pros: Excellent Fluidity, Good Stability
