Strong & Versatile - Artist or Photo

Marc, B&H Photo
17 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I own two of these ball heads now along with four plates. I have had them since around June 2014. I changed from a pistol grip and was extremely pleased with the small size of this unit along with its ability to hold very heavy loads (rated at 40lbs).
  • Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp

Worthwhile upgrade

Joshua, B&H Photo
14 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I obtained this ballhead as an upgrade to an existing non-ARCA unit that I was using. Six months ago I began regularly using a Peak Design Quick release mount that I love. Use of this ballhead with its ARCA-compatible mount completes my transition.

  • Excerpt: I used the ball head for my macro photography. The Vanguard ball head helps me to move my camera with ease.It can hold steadilly my 5D with lens.I have never used the more expensive ball heads in the market so I don't know how good they are but for my opinion, this head is strong enough for my...

BBH-200 Ballhead.... Awesome!

HDMan, B&H Photo
13 January 2014
  • Excerpt: Very happy with this well built ball head. One small detail, I had to remove the safety pin on the head as there is not a release button on it to allow an arca plate to slide off easily, so it gets hung up.
  • Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, High quality, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp
  • Cons: No Release Button For Pin

Very solid head

  • Excerpt: The separate pan lock is common enough but that doesn't make it any less awesome. I really like the lever lock for the ball itself. It's quick, easy, and very secure. The Rapid Level System is okay...it works fine but I don't see myself ever using it.
  • Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp

Good Head

Adorama

  • Excerpt: I love this head.My other head is an Arca-Swiss which cost twice as much--this one's just as good. And it weighs less, too.I'm happy that it's Arca-Swiss compatible.I don't have much use for the quick switch on this head, but that's not significant. It works great.

Impressed

Brian, B&H Photo
24 July 2013
  • Excerpt: The head has very good build quality. Feels very solid. No dip noticed once locked off. The auto centering centers the head to your tripod so if your tripod legs are not level the auto centering will not be level.
  • Pros: Arca Swiss Mount, Good Stability, Strong Clamp

Funny thing about ballheads

Scott Weaver, B&H Photo
20 June 2013
  • Excerpt: Just purchased this BBH-200 Vantuard ballhead. Never had a ballhead or even used one before, so there's a learning curve. Had always used a three way pan head. Only problem with those I ever run into is when one of the arms gets in the way of looking thru the viewfinder, but that doesn't often...
