Excerpt: I bought a similar model with a similar price point and build from vanguard. After using it for a few months, it started falling apart. Now it's all but useless. I had a sunpak $ tripod when I first started shooting, about fifteen years ago that was way sturdier and lasted close to a decade.
Excerpt: I am an advanced amateur photographer with a preference of landscape, birds in flight/nature and macro photography. In the past, I felt most of my difficulties were my own inability to get the great shots.
Excerpt: I spent a lot of time looking and reviewing tripods, I would think that I found the one, but would wait to buy it. Then I saw the Alta Pro 2283CB100. The ability it has with the 360 degree rotation is amazing. I knew without a doubt this was the one. At first I had some trouble, but that was me.
Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
Excerpt: I've had a couple of cheapo tripods but was intrigued by all the features that the Alta Pro line offered, I am looking forward to spring weather and the chance to explore the world of macro with the aid of this new tool.
Excerpt: I will use this tripod for a variety of situations, wildlife photography, scenery, portrait photography. I love the versatility of this tripod, its light weight for carrying it on photo hikes so forth.
Pros: Good Stability, Lightweight, Solid as a rock, Unfolds Quickly, Versatile
Excerpt: I have not yet started using this tripod, so unfortunately I can't attest to its pros & cons. But I'd like to mention how awesomely B&H handled the fact that the stone bag was missing from the package sent to me.
Excerpt: The quality is solid. Carbon fiber legs are well built. Central column is not carbon, but still in great quality. You don't have to pay as much as gitzo does. This is good for a professional use. Disadvantages: A little bit heavier than I expected. It maybe a burden for traveling.
Excerpt: Excellent and affordable choice for my Nikon D800 and assorted lenses. This tripod and ball head are well made. I love the versatility of being able to extend the center section to shoot straight down for macro shots.
Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Sturdy, Unfolds Quickly
