Eduardo, B&H Photo
12 January 2016
  • Excerpt: PROS: Compact, sturdy and looks very durable. The center column is very versatile and helpful, especially if you look macro or from unusual angles. CONS: The handle of the gun is a little hard to press and the tripod is heavier than I expected.
  • Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
  • Cons: Heavy

25 December 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought this for my dad to use with a spotting scope after he used one someone had at a gun match. He loves it! It is very easy to set up and with the pistol grip it is very easy to move from target to target. Plus it is just very cool.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement

mobilespies, B&H Photo
30 October 2015
  • Excerpt: First off, packing and shipping were first rate. There are many reviews on this item, but almost all were from professionals. I am writing this is a novice with very little experience with tripod photography in the past. First thing I noticed was build quality and feel.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Locks In Tight
  • Cons: Jerky Movement

Caution: Your Camera May Fall Off this Tripod!

Richard from New Hampshire, B&H Photo
16 October 2015
  • Excerpt: The design of the locking mechanism of the quick release disk that mounts on the camera to the tripod is faulty. It makes a click sound fooling you into believing it has locked the disk into place. It will not be locked causing the camera to fall to the ground and possibly damage the camera.

Beware of the Clamps

Lewis Marroquin, B&H Photo
31 July 2015
  • Excerpt: I own the Vanguard Alta Pro 263 AT with GH-100 head. In the course of a week I had to use the tool it came with to tighten the clamps three times because the leg would all of a sudden start retracting.
  • Cons: Jerky Movement, Tripod Leg Clamps Fail

Amazing Engineered

Aging Photo Nut, B&H Photo
11 June 2015
  • Excerpt: This is an awesome tripod for video, stationary photo shooting, or anything which does not require lightweight use like back packing. The pistol grip head is amazing. I will never use anything else. Everyone who tries it oohs and aahs. The engineering and build on this are excellent.
  • Pros: Easily Adjusted, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
  • Cons: Heavy

Solid, flexible, quick to adjust

AdamXP, B&H Photo
7 May 2015
  • Excerpt: I use this for exploring and landscape work, but it's also great in the studio. I needed a tripod that could handle a D800 with battery grip and considerable glass weight that would enable me to make quick/precise adjustments.
  • Pros: Compact, Easily Adjusted, Good Footing, Lightweight, Locks In Tight, Smooth Movement
  • Cons: Bulky
