Excerpt: I bought this to replace the tripod I had and it is an improvement for taking timed exposures indoors and out. Solid and easy to change bodies with the quick change mount. This is not your mother's tripod and I doubt she could carry it great distances, but you aren't your mother. Greatest weakness is also its greatest strength--it is heavy so set up may delay wildlife gets.
Pros: Attaches Firmly, Easy to adjust, Good Stability
Excerpt: I bought this tripod to use with a birding scope, and often I attach a camera for digiscoping. The stability is excellent. I wanted a tripod that's taller than most, to see through the straight eyepiece of my scope when I'm looking up at something (e.g., planets and stars). This one puts my equipment at eye level, even w/o extending the center column. The pan/tilt action is smooth and can be locked with a simple twist.
