Excerpt: This is a solid tripod for the money. The weight is just right for use in moderate wind conditions, such as near the sea, etc. I work with long exposures and find the tripod to be beneficial gear so far. I wish the tripod had levels but it hasn't been problematic not having them.
Excerpt: I'm 6'1" and having a tripod that could extend to a sturdy comfortable working height is important to me. Most of my recent work has been landscape photography. So, I mounted my camera and extended the center column to a comfortable shooting level and still had room to extend the center column...
Excerpt: This product was recommended to me by my tenant, after using his Pro 34DX I upgraded and bought the Pro 500DX and have been very happy using the product. Highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a solid, durable and easy to use product.
Excerpt: I'm still pretty novice with the whole photo/video thing, so I went into this purchase fairly blind and relied mostly on what the salesperson was telling me. Well, they did not lead me astray. This tripod is excellent for doing both photography and video.
Excerpt: This tripod seems sturdy and well built. The locking mechanisms on the legs are easy to use quickly. The pan/tilt head is great and I like how the handles unscrew so the tripod will fit nicely in the carry bag. The tripod is the perfect height for me (5'8"). Wish it had a T level, but no biggie.
Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly
Excerpt: I generally use this tripod for landscapes, low light photography, and head shots. It seems like it is built to last. My previous tripod is dinky compared to the 500DX. Although this tripod is very tough extended at regular height, when the legs are flipped out, it has some give.
Pros: Good Stability, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp
