  • Excerpt: Great little tripod. I keep it in the trunk for backup and when I need to pack-it in. I've used it with a Nikon D90 and Nikkor 70-300 with good stability.
  • Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly

  • Summary: An excellent choice for the road warrior that simply doesn't have the storage or budget for a large tripod.
  • Pros: compact, relatively light weight, sturdy, neoprene padding, pan head included
  • Cons: too short for tall users, somewhat flimsy at max. height, no case, one-piece center column

Slik Pro 340dx Tripod

goboulder, PriceGrabber

  • Summary: Slik Pro 340dx is a relatively (!) cheap, lightweight, small, and sturdy tripod that I ever had. This tripod is the best for travel unless you have huge-diameter zoom lenses. It is lightweight and small. If there were a hook at the bottom of the center column for additional weight, it would have been a plus. It may be somewhat unstable in the windy environment. But in the ordinary usage, it will give you the best mobility with huge advantages of a tripod.
  • Pros: Lightweight and Small, but sturdy.
  • Cons: a hook for more weight on the center column would give more stable standing.
