Product missing parts

Mad customer in Kentucky, B&H Photo
  • Excerpt: The head I received was missing two plastic parts. One holds the camera in place and the other one keeps the screw from falling out of the plate. You can buy bargain basement tripods with heads which don't have to be assembled by the end user.
  • Cons: Incompletemissing Parts

Solid, great value

  • Excerpt: Simple but sturdy and well built head. Use it on a slider, monopod, and regular tripod. Bought as an addition to its big brother, 502, so it's lighter and smaller when I need to be portable.
  • Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Strong Clamp
  • Cons: Bulky, Heavy

Good, but bulky replacement for 701 HDV

Sarah, B&H Photo
9 March 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought this video head because it was listed as the upgrade for the 701 HDV mini fluid video head. Even though the 701 HDV was marketed as a prosumer head, I really liked how lightweight and flexible it was. After working with the 701 HDV, this head feels really really big.
  • Cons: Heavy

Works on Digital Juice SlyderDolly

5 March 2015
  • Excerpt: Solid fluid head works with canon 5d & canon xf300 on a Digital Juice SlyderDolly. I was happy that the base plate matched other sachtler tripods we have...so it seems standard, which makes it easy for us to switch which cameras are on the slider.

Good, but needs some improvement

Eric Saperstein, B&H Photo
5 March 2015
  • Excerpt: This is a great head, but ... and I say but because I expect a little more attention to detail from Manfrotto. The head arrived way too tight on the pan, we had to losen the center screw and that's kind of a cop out way of handling the issue.
  • Pros: Large Range of Motion
  • Cons: Missing Antispin Button, Pan Too Tight

Miles better than my old head

Earn your turns, B&H Photo
4 March 2015
  • Excerpt: This is a huge upgrade over the other entry level manfrottos I have used in the past. The tilt and pan are very smooth for me. I don't use much drag, so I can't really comment on that but overall I am amazed by the quality.
  • Pros: Attaches Firmly, Good Stability, Large Range of Motion, Strong Clamp

A Solid Investment

  • Excerpt: I like this head. It does a great job. It also fits my existing manfrotto plates. It doesn't slide in from the back, but from the side. Still works great.

Great on a monopod for video

Laura C., B&H Photo
23 February 2015
  • Excerpt: I got this to put on a Benro monopod to shoot a documentary with a DSLR and its worked out great. It is light weight, easy to use, and easy to travel with. I mounted the camera cage to the plate and it was very easy to navigate a 1500 person even with this setup.
