Lightweight and Sturdy

16 February 2015
  • Excerpt: The tripod is great. Quite sturdy and stable. The quick lock leg extensions operate very securely. The only thing I'd like to see added is some way to keep the legs together when picking it up to transport it. The built in stiffness helps but that will loosen as time goes on.
  • Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use, Highly Compatible, Lightweight, Professional Quality

Light And STURDY! Collapses Small!

Carl King, B&H Photo
10 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I used this on the show floor at CES 2015 in Las Vegas to capture B-Roll. It was totally sturdy. And it collapsed quickly. I could easily plant it down for 10 seconds, get a shot, stick the legs back together and carry it through the crowd to my next location.

Beautifully made, light and tall

  • Excerpt: I'm 6'3" and this thing lifts my video cams higher than my eye line! Amazing! I put a Sachtler Ace head on it and it is the perfect traveling combination, light and smooth. Almost as smooth as my Miller 30 on massive Gitzo sticks, which now costs practically an airfare to bring on location.

Magnificent Tripod

  • Excerpt: The Manfrotto 535 CF Tripod is lite and easy leg adjustment with it's lever locks. All Manfrotto tripods should have these type of lever locks. I also purchased the Manfrotto 181B Folding Auto Dolly. Setting the tripod on the Dolly is very ease with it's tripod leg locking device.

  • Excerpt: Solid sticks, very stable, lightweight, and well built. A 75mm bowl makes it very easy to level. I am using this with a Kessler Pocket Jib Traveller and it is perfect.

First shoot with 535 tripod legs

Leadbelly 1966, B&H Photo
10 November 2013
  • Excerpt: I picked up my new carbon fiber sticks yesterday & drove straight to my shoot! It was a documentary style, run-n-gun shoot w/interviews & lot's of cover video. Overall, I like them a lot. In my humble opinion, there's no such thing as a perfect set of sticks (or perfect camera, for that matter).
  • Pros: Compact Design, Compact Lightweight, Easy To Use, Highly Compatible, Improves Performance, Lightweight, Professional Quality
  • Cons: Covered Leg Hinges, Pricey / Poor Value

Excellent Sticks

  • Excerpt: I use these and the 4 section version for my photo/video work. Could not be happier. This particular set of sticks is super light and compact. In fact, I thought we had been sent an empty box because they are so light.I have always liked Manfrotto's tripod legs and heads.

  • Excerpt: This is a really great tripod overall. Its so light that you can even use it as a monopod at times, if you really needed it to. I love the 75mm bowl so that you can easily level your camera at any given time.
