tripod legs

Bill, Eagle Optics
23 December 2011
  • Summary: The legs are good.Probably not as good as the Carbon Fiber ones, but a lot more affordable. It gets to be a little heavy carrying the spotting scope attached to the legs. Ok if you're carrying it just for a short distance.

Three feet of clay

TestPilot, B&H Photo
5 September 2010
  • Excerpt: The centre column of this tripod will disappoint. First, it fits loosely and sloppily into the tripod main casting. It will raise the camera, certainly, but it inspires little confidence. Second, while the top plate of the centre column can be attached securely to the selected tripod head, no such assurance exists with the head attachment plate. This cleverly fits into the bottom of the column for storage, and that's where it should be left.
  • Pros: Adequate for amateurs
  • Cons: Not pro quality

  • Summary: I am using this tripod with a Sony PD170. The legs aren't as steady as I had hoped. As with most tripods, the extension tube is useless.
  • Pros: Folds Small, Unfolds Quickly
  • Cons: Unstable
