  • Excerpt: Very sturdy and keeps the camera fixed. Somewhat heavy for the hiking I do but manageable. Great for getting various angles for shots.

Studio and beyond

  • Excerpt: Use these legs in the studio and in the field; fairly lightweight but very sturdy; quick up and down. DSLR, DSLR w/ telephoto, DSLR video. We're in the woods and on the water a lot; we try not to abuse equipment, but these can stand up to it. Excellent height range. Take care of them and it'll be worth it.
  • Pros: Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly

Great Legs!

Bart, B&H Photo
11 March 2013
  • Excerpt: I was at first skeptical of giving up my aluminium legs for Carbon Fiber replacements. I was scared they'd be too light and too flimsy. I was wrong. I feel very comfortable putting my DSLR with Battery grip on these legs. They're very sturdy while also being much lighter than my old aluminum ones.
  • Pros: Folds Small, Good Stability, Lightweight, Unfolds Quickly

Sturdy and Light

  • Excerpt: I use these set of legs for video and photo work. I end up changing the heads in my studio depending on what I'm doing but this way I can just have one set of great legs. I was skeptical at first about carbon fiber since it feels a bit flimsy but once the legs are out the tripod feels pretty sturdy to me. There are also options to attach weights for counter balance to this specific pair of legs.

Nice upgrade from my old Manfrotto

  • Excerpt: For 20 years I've loved my big honking clunky Manfrotto aluminum tripod for studio work and for big video cameras. It was time I got a carbon-fiber one for location work, that will double as my studio tripod as well. It's not the most compact nor the lightest. It's not a hiking tripod but I've used it on 3 indoor model shoots and one outside architectural shoot. And I LOVE it. It goes about 8 inches higher than my eye standing and it goes to like 5 inches off the ground.

Super Light, Super Strong

  • Excerpt: I finally decided to invest in a real tripod, and I couldn't be more happy. I do a lot of hiking and need to be as mobile as possible, so I decided on a carbon fiber tripod. After shopping around, I chose Manfrotto based on price and reviews. The tripod is worth every penny. The legs lock tight and are very fluid and quick to adjust. Being able to remove the center is going to be great once I get into macro, so I bought this tripod because it's something I can grow into.

Didn't last

B, B&H Photo
17 August 2012
  • Excerpt: Lots of great reviews here, but didn't have the same luck. On two of the legs, the interior stops broke on the last segments (after about one year of use). So when fully extending these legs, the final segments would slip right off. Made leveling the tripod a chore. Seems carbon fiber construction can be flimsy -- going to stick with heavier metal legs.
