A must if you own the Joby SLR-Zoom

Craig, B&H Photo
10 February 2014
  • Excerpt: I purchased the Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom Flexible Mini-Tripod on it's own and thought I could use it without the ballhead. It is feasible but way more practical and easy with this ballhead. I would definitely recommend this item.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fits Well, Improves Tripod Function, Solid/Sturdy

It's great!

  • Excerpt: Used as directed. Fully articulating. Perfect for portrait shots and also for getting the camera upside down for shooting the stars. Bubble level is a nice feature.

Great value

  • Excerpt: Much more sturdy and solid than the price would suggest. I wouldn't put any next-level, bulky telephotos on this, but for your average, run-of-the-mill photog, this'll do just fine.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fits Well, Improves Tripod Function, Solid/Sturdy

Really Glad I got this

Mark, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: I use the gorillapod with the optional ball head which makes it so much more versatile. I have a Nikon D5100 with kit 18-55mm lens and it supports this really well. When I switch to the 55-300mm lens and zoom in all the way you can see that the gorillapod is not as rock solid as a full sized tripod but still useful. I use it to take multiple shots for HDR. The tripod can be bent and made to fit in the camera bag I already had. Also I like to use it for shooting video.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Lightweight

Perfect Accessory for Gorillapod SLRZoom

Mark, B&H Photo
29 January 2014
  • Excerpt: If you have the gorillapod SLR Zoom you will need the ballhead. It has a quick release to attach and detach your camera. It means that you can position your camera easily and quickly. It seems strong enough for my Nikon D5100 with 18-55mm. The whole gorillapod is not as rock solid when I attach the 55-300mm lens but it's still good fun.

Essential for the outdoor videographer

Dr. Telemark, B&H Photo
16 November 2013
  • Excerpt: I have several of the BH1 Ballheads now and find them exceedingly useful for outdoor or action video work. You can add this head to any tripod and if filming on uneven surfaces (mountain terrain, snow, etc.), it allows you to level your camera easily and adjust the angle of your shot well. I've taken these to very dusty environments and still the ball head is smooth and locks down perfectly. A versatile tool that is worth the money.

amazing Tripod head!

  • Excerpt: I am so amazed by how good this works for its price range! It is so easy and quick to adjust to the perfect angle, and easy to level. This head will not work for doing panning shots with video. It is perfect for still shots! I love it!
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fits Well, Light, Quick, Solid/Sturdy
  • Cons: No Video Pan

Necessary Accessory to Gorillapod

leem, B&H Photo
29 September 2013
  • Excerpt: This ballhead is necessary because putting a camera directly on the Gorillapod does not allow convenient pointing. The head works fine, and the level is an added plus.

Neat Little Tripod

leem, B&H Photo
29 September 2013
  • Excerpt: I used this tripod to hold the camera while taking shots in very low light when the shutter will be slow, and where there are people around and you have to be quick about your shot (on tour where full tripods are not convenient). I have not had occasion to use it under most of the other advertised wrap-around situations.
